After such a poor performance against Ashford I atually thought we would come out all guns blazing, but todays game pretty much sums this "team" up - NOT GOOD enough to beat bottom sides such as WA so why would we even dream of beating the better teams - lost all hope now - Ryman South here we come - and we aint good enough for that league either.....

I am probably the most optomistic fan on here so in addition to my previous post I would just like to add how the hell can any fans put up with such a lack-lustre performance considering we have most of our "old" boys back and that WA were so medicore ..... thinking Ill be staying away from games from now on..... not sure..

You have no idea, I have argued with friends/mates about how we will turn this season around, but after watching such a poor performance today against such a lowly side - even reprieves arent an option now.....

Theres not much I can say that you havent already said - it was a terrible performance against a poor team. I felt confident before the game looking at the team we had out and felt we would win, however I said to my dad, who saw only his 2nd game of the season, that if we lost today there is no chance of survival. I havent change my view.

 

There is so much wrong with our team - players, tactics, management. I rarely crictise the team on a whole but at some point we have to say that they are just not good enough as a team, sure Saunders and Pinnock were pretty good for us a few years ago, but lets face it they are here for the money and nothing else. having said that Saunders was our best player today. For some reason Lacy was "awarded" Man of Match - he gets the ball and doesnt look to do anything other than launch it long - hoof hoof hoof - and he was the best player?! Remember in the days when Saunders and Pinnock played before they were surrounded by good players, now they have to do it all on their own - and thats not going to work.

 

Forgot Pinnock was playing - wasnt involved at all, but then all he and Blackman had to feed of was long hopeful balls forward that were easily dealt with by the WA defence.

 

there was a moment very late on when Dean Grant was in a good position on the right and had all the time in the world to deliver a good cross but proceeded to kick it off - high over the goal. Now in Sunday league that is bad enough and is maybe jus annoying, but for a player to do that, who is getting paid by a club and infront of people who have paid to watch - is ridiculous and boarders on taking the piss out of us.

 

Couple of strange decisions today by O Connell - Taking Stubbs off was a poor decision, and playing Duncan at left back - didnt really work but that isnt the reason we lost. Hopefully Piper and O Connell realise now that being a Margate "legend" and fans favourite doesnt guarentee 3 points or survival. first 2 games - 0-3 and 0-3. Not good enough - simple as that. Butler must be looking and laughing his head off. The budget has been considerably increased to accomodate old Margate players and to give O Connell a contract, and results and performances have declined. he must be wondering where this money has come from all of a sudden!

 

I have taken a battering for my recent posts - but would any replies to my post be about the post or the football team - not me personally.

Have to agree with you Dannriding. I echo all that you say.

You & I alike & many other people who have been trying to stay positive will have changed their tune after today feel. The team? Yes I'm sure there was effort in there somewhere but it was the lack of ideas,naivity & an inept strike force that cost us.

I wont argue with your above & complete post in the main,except to disagree strongly about Duncan. Duncan AGAIN was solid & AGAIN played the simple ball & hardly put a foot wrong.Looked comfortable enough & proberbly the best of a bad bunch today.That one was a good decision by I.O.

Unlike the decision the ref gave by yellow carding Turner. How on earth that wasn't a "double" red card (if ever their was one) I'll never know.

Was amazed at him only getting a yellow for that.On the other hand it was cracking save from the penalty from Turner. Plus one other super save in the 1st half from a well driven free kick.

Well i enjoyed myself today. I heard two Who songs "Substitute" and "Who are You", and on my way back to the car i heard a Queen number being played.

The venue was a little cold, and the main show wasn't too good, but i like the music.

If the DJ is doing request can I have a dedication to a Local Football Team that I love so much, we've had our ups and downs, and at the moment we're going

through a rough patch (Not the pitch). But i know if we keep believing in each other, good times will return.

Good post there Dom. Gutless performance. The lowest point in my time as a fan. The inquest may as well begin as we're going nowhere other than down, in bottom place. I guess before today I always held onto the glimmer of hope that a win would breed confidence. Clearly the prospect of a battle for survival wasn't high on the players list of priorities. Some of the players out there simply don't deserve to be picking up wages for playing football, let alone playing in front of 300 fans. Near enough a complete clearout needed. Gutless bottlers need not join.

But no, that's not good enough for Piper, so he goes for someone with little experience and spends more money on this manager and on players, and now the quality of the football has declined and we've dropped to the bottom of the league...

Dont blame Piper for results, but then again for some,you in particular, who seem to have a vendetta against him no matter what he does,its the easy way out I suppose.The players have to take the blame here.

Clearly the vasat majority of fans thought Butler had a rough deal based on the subsequent funds made available to the new manager and Piper clearly (for egotistical reasons) wanted a change of management which to date has proved to be a gross misjudgement. In time who knows but at this stage the football played by Margate is inferior to that played under Butler. If he had been given the funds for a striker I believe survival would have been attainable. But the past is past there is no white knight to save the club and we have what we have. So lets keep supporting the club and hope next season will see the phoenix arise from the flames and this great club rise again. KEEP THE FAITH.

I'm talking about the match today & results on the pitch not the whole picture which in part you may be correct but I'm certainly not sucking up to anyone especially you & most certainly not KP.

The players we have should have been good enough to secure 3 points against such a modest side such as W.A. today.

KP wasn't out there playing was he? The players were the ones that came off the park with no points & they are the ones that let us down on that pitch today.

In the meantime you carry on wollowing in our on & off - field disappointments because from where I'm standing thats all you seem to be doing....& enjoying it I'm sure.

If you are THAT dissatisfied with how the clubs being run then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT instead of just gobbing off.

Go on,you start the ball rolling or is it just words with you..

Steve i'm not denying the frustration that we ALL have,myself included in not,thus far getting what was promised to us.That is something that I can agree on entirely but that's a separate issue to todays game & for today that's what I am commenting on.

You are also correct in saying that 300 is an unbelievable attendance figure taking into account all the latest & consistent ON FIELD disappointments & much praise should go to those 300.

Excuse me but if this run over the last 6 years happened in most clubs there would be riots and why do we have to put up with it Cookie, excuse me did the players knock down the ground make us ground share miles away and the club nearly folding NO so im up to here with all the rose coloured crap people put on here, as ive said the squad isnt good enough we should have been relegated last year as deserved it. I dont want any repreive this season we deserve to go down after this tripe thats been served up. No is the short & most obvious answer to that but can you REALLY put all the blame for that down to just ONE man? Maybe you can! I.M.O. the main culprit for knocking the ground down has long gone.
