PREMIER DIVISION

Kentish Town 3-2 Hanwell Town

I'm sure Royals26 won't mind me posting this from the another Forum, it's amazing how just one player can completely lift a Club's fortunes like Maradonna did at Napoli for example:

SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS PREMIER

Barnet Copthall

Kentish Town 3-2 Hanwell Town

Admission: £6.00 for me and The Lad incl free prog. Just as well really it was pretty thin and low on stat content - quite a few few jokey bits which were a bit hit 'n miss. Some of the dates mentioned suggest it could do with a bit of an overhaul.

Attendance : h/c 15 official 17 - included a couple of possible Hoppers - asked whether we knew of a local Pub showing ESPN so they could dash off and watch Doyler vs Prawn Sarnie Utd.

Ground/Facilities: probably been done quite a few times on here before - pretty tricky to find - though Copthall is 'Brown-signed' almost from the M25/M1 (South)

Head south on the M1 leaving @ jn 4 as signed and continue south on the A41 for approx 12.5 miles. After filtering left into Page Street from the A1/A41 - then turning right into the Stadium area along Champions Way look for a turning to the right (Greenlands Lane) BEFORE you reach the Car Park to the Golf Driving Range. Lots of Parking around the front of the Stadium.

The entrance looked nice and shiny-new with 'Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers' signs (?) plastered up everywhere in a very clean but empty Reception area. Carry on towards the 'arena' where you pay at a table at the bit near the cafe.

Then once inside the Stadium it starts to get a bit shabby - not sure how many Athletics meets they have but they don't clean up much afterwards. Lost of tape and barriers around - looks as if you can only watch the football from up in the giant Grandstand - up via some stairs at the right hand end - or from the comfort of the cafe - which does a very nice line in hot Sausage/Egg/Bacon Rolls.

Amongst some piles of waste paper, sweet wrappers in the Stand was an old KTFC Prog. dated from November 09.

Match: Surprise result really - the 'returning' Lee Scott led the line very well against a sluggish and slapdash Hanwell. It was 3-0 to the home side at half-time. Hanwell eventually stirring to fight-back and cause some anxious moments as they deservedly scored two. Inspite of a fairly disabling injury to the KT keeper late on after all subs had been used - Hanwell couldn't force an equaliser in a very lengthy period of stoppage time.

Minor point - I was a bit thrown initially by KTFC lining up in All Red - don't know why they weren't in their usual SkyBlue/Navy strip? Thankfully Hanwell were in their usual Yellow/Blue.

Traffic on the M25 was complete ^%&$ - eventually home by about 18:30.

Thanks phoinex! The ground staff at Coles Park are absolutely excellent.

Does this mean we are owed a billion dollars?

I just want to point out that after tomorrow's game we will have the same home games played as Tokyngton Manor and Brache Sparta. We are due to play at home on Wednesday too. So that will mean we will have played one game more at home.

Where is the league's logic now?

The Cold End - Finally is certainly the right word to use, Sport London e Benfica last played 'at home' on 23 September

The Cold End - I wouldn't count on it, there is a lot of dew on these cold mornings and light drizzle is forecast towards the end of this week

Indeed. Hopefully with all the bad weather now a distant memory Sport London and Haringey Boro can get some home games played. No more pitch problems!!

Work is being done on the pitch this week, with more work by the end of the season. Coles Park is not the worst pitch in the league by far!

Suffice to say that now all the fixtures are up it looks like SLB is due to finish our home fixtures by the 21st of April unlike Tokyngton who end theirs in May! Yet another reason to not understand the logic of the decision made by the league!
