ANOTHER everyday tale of asylum-seeking folk.

An illegal immigrant, claiming to be from Croatia — though he could be from anywhere — is subletting his free council house to other migrants.

 

He drives to Smethwick from London, where he lives now, in a BMW to collect his £350 rent and his £176 welfare check.

 

The authorities let him get on with it.

 

He told an undercover reporter: “There is no country like this country.”

 

Meanwhile, an immigrant from the Ivory Coast, who entered Britain illegally from France on a stolen passport, has been granted asylum because a witch doctor has put a spell on him back in Africa.

 

You couldn’t make it up.

 

As the man said, there is no country like this country.
