Funniest Moment of the Season

 

Sawbridgeworth Centre Forward James Whitbread trying to flick the ball (al la david dunn) only to fall flat on his back directly in front of the Takeley Bench

 

A Typical Local Derby in which Takeley cruised through to the semi finals.

As a newish observer of the Essex Senior League I was a spectator at the above game and was very impressed by Takeley FC. The Ground is taking shape nicely and the people at takeley are very friendly bunch.

I chose this game as on paper it looked a fascinating tie.

However takeley were comfortable winners as the only challenges Sawbridgeworth made were against every refereeing decision. Especially one Abusive Drunken red faced spectator who I later found out was the Sawbridgeworth Chairman.

Credit to the sawbo players though they didn't give up, but i'd say they were in a false position in the league.

 

A very enjoyable evening was had and judging by this game Takeley will be up there at the end of the season although having seen Bethnal Green, Burnham and enfield play it looks like shaping up to be a very open title race.

 

Many thanks to the people of Takeley FC, I will definately return again hopefully for a game against one of the challengers.

glad u enjoyed the game the chosen one and that we made ur first visit to takeley a good one, as for they red faced chairman maybe people are seeing why we all up sticks and went to a proper run club!
