I agree with this thread. Canvey have rarely put in a bad performance this season and are unlikely to on the 9th.

Northampton are a 2nd Division team who should beat a Ryman team but are obviously struggling. Having only sold 350 out of 450 tickets to season ticket holders gives everyone some idea of feeling up there.

It all comes down to who is the best team on the day in these situations and all the bickering about who will thrash who is pointless...............but fun!

youve got to think we are going to be up against it from kick off..despite northamptons position in div 2 they are still div 2 players..looking at the first vale game we were lucky to stay in it and up at wigan they had their chances and an early goal for them would have made a big difference....having said that at park lane, on bbc1, with 3,500 packed in, and looking at the canvey team now i think we have real chance of an upset..a more slightly attacking formation than at the JJB and getting in amongst them from the off and we could do it..all we have to avoid is them getting a couple of quick goals and then slaughtering us on the break...mind you port vale probably thought that as well...COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!!!! <img src="graemlins/granate.gif" border="0" alt="" />

I just hope we do ourselves justice of which like most of the regulars I'm sure we will.

Will they fancy playing in our little ground with the rain and the wind howling from the river.

The likes of Gabbiodini who have played in all the top venues will think what the F*** am i doing here.

The heavy burden of propping up division two and all such worries i really feel they are there for the taking.

The NTFC fans will be down as there is not much cover to get out of the rain and its a long way home when you get beat and your wet.<p>What a beautiful day for the Island

Very nicely put.<p>When Canvey ran out at the JJB Stadium, just the fabulous surroundings must have given them a terrific boost. Playing in that quality of stadium when you are used to Park Lane - I bet our boys suddenly felt 2" taller and 2 yards faster.<p>Imagine, then, running out at Park Lane when you are used to the luxury of the professional outfits. We all know and love our humble adode, but you can be sure the NTFC players WON'T feel that sense of awe and wonder that our boys had at Wigan.<p>We must be very careful, however. Just because we drew with Port Vale, then beat them, then beat Wigan does not mean that this game is ours by right. But Jeff is a superb tactician and a good motivator. Some good comments on your website.

We all know how bad we have been in the league. But don't forget our season is finished regarding promotion and play offs. However, we have only have one chance of success and it is the FA cup.

I am a "COBBLERS" season ticket holder & will be at Canvey on Sunday.

I honestly think you will beat us quite comfortably 3 or 4 nil.

We have a paper thin squad with no leaders & we are so low on confidence.

If you score early, our heads will drop & we'll be there for the taking.

we have had a great run and that breeds confidence, but only a fool would think we are going to boss it over a 2nd division outfit..i expect us to come under a 20 min barrarge from the off..if we can survive that then its game on

If you go 1-0 up after 4 or so minutes. This will mean nothing to us, our heads will not drop, they will rise, as a sign of competition. The half time whistle blows 1-0. The cobbler fans still cheering. The canvey fans keeping their heads high. We come on after half time. And score 10 or so miutes after half time. Then another goal after about 70 minutes. And then another goal in the dying minutes. Leaving it 3-1 to the Canvey Boyz. This is not a bias comment. We often fight back after half time, I dunno what Jeff does. (Does it involve a leather whip?) HeH I'll leave that for you to think about, before CANV starts moaning at me cos i'm to young Naughty language there KettCobb. Never catch me usin' that sort of thing innit CANV?

Yes CANV, I have only had 2 days off since september. I went in at luchtime today, I had yesterday off as my granddad died on Sunday, I was very close to him, and my whole family had the day off work/school. Thanks for trying to make me look like a you-know-what. Would I be this intelligent if I never attended school? Figure that one out, and come back to me with the answer.
