Why do Enfield always start so slowly? It's been the same the past 2 years, slow start then a fantastic run but not quite enough to snatch promotion. The only excuse I can think of is that they seem to have a big turnover of players every pre-season and it takes a while to get a team bedded down.

If they win Saturday and Burnham were to lose, this could be a really close title race. Exciting for the league.

Least they are nearer than they were last year, a brilliant 2nd part of the seaon last year, but Romford had the points in the bag.

Interesting also that in the past our defense has always been a bit suspect, yet we have kept 8 clean sheets from the last 11 games.

As for why slow starters - god knows, that said we lost several players before the start of the season to serious injuries, and they are just coming back, although that is not an excuse, but was certainly a factor early on.

 

player turn over is always a problem at this level however i think we suffer less than most,

a number of the current squad have been at the club for a few years now.

saturday will be an interesting set of matches

Es away to barkingside - very tough, and our last away game against any of the top 8

compared to burnham who have only 1 home game and 5 away v the top 8.

 

will be an interesting and exciting run in no doubt,

I think Burnham have got another battle on their hands tonight if that game is on 'cos Eton Manor must have frightened the life out of them on Saturday.

Wednesday April 14 Club 18-93 v Burnham Ramblers.. might have some of that if the league hinges on it and I can find Broxbourne on Google Maps.

Now we are out of the equation, there's no obvious team to p!ss in Enfield's promotion tent this year - like we have done the past two seasons..

If they (Enfield) do go up then they will have a nice couple of battles with the other side that carries that particular cross next season.

Sorry Townies, but can't see beyond Lowestoft and Concord for promotion this year..
