Eton Manor Wednesday

Recommended Posts

Looking for a league game Wednesday and wanted to see Eton Manor v Burnham, if it stays as a league game and if on of course, but wondered will this stay as a league fixture or get changed to League Cup S/f 1st leg.... anyone from either club or LC know?

No offence to this cup, but would rather see league game, at Bowers if Eton a cup match. :signthankspin:

As things stand it will currently be a league game.

Saturdays game was a good spectacle... 6 goals, 2 penalties, a 94th minute equalizer from Burnham, a wonder strike for Eton Manor's 3rd goal and a 97 attendence.. Good advert for the ESL

According to centre spot the equaliser was in the 98th minute... and to be honest I think that was on the conservative side. In total 18 minutes of added time played in the second half. Bizarre. Enjoyed it though - as I always do when these two play. Not sure I'll get there Wednesday because of work, which is a shame, because I just think these two teams really bring the best out of one another.

Why was there so much added time?

I dont think there was 8 minutes added time.. Both sides made 3 substitutions, few times when the physio came on but nothing springs to mind and 8 minutes is greatly exaggarated. It was probably 5 minutes maximum. It just happens that Burnham did score with what appeared to be the last kick of the game and on another day could have been given as a foul on the goalkeeper.

The game finished at 3 minutes past 5 by my watch, if the League Chairman says 90+8 then he must have got that from the home secretary so I'm guessing he thought there was that much time too. Also don't think Manor made 3 changes although I could be wrong. I'm not sure about the foul on the goalkeeper to be honest, it looked like a 50-50 to me although the Manor players and management were clearly very, very angry. I think they had more cause to be angry at the first half penalty given to Burnham. I was behind that goal at that point and if anything it was the Burnham player doing the pushing. Equally in the build up to Manor's 3rd goal they seemed to get a throw in awarded when the ball wasn't out. The referee was very, very poor throughout I'm afraid.
