The midfielder took on a role as player/coach with the Stones this month, but has now returned to Margate to play for new boss Iain O’Connell. Stones boss Peter Nott tells Alex Hoad at the Kent Messenger: “It is a big loss for us and it is disappointing because he is one of our main players. “He was a big influence in the dressing room and had been a great help to us settling in over the past two weeks.” It has emerged that Saunders initially rejected a seven-day approach from Gate chairman Keith Piper but was persuaded to change his mind by a lucrative financial package which includes a clause which would see him receive a bonus if the Thanet side avoid relegation this season. Nott acknowledged: “It was a financially good opportunity for him – too good for him to turn down at this stage in his career.” Two other Stones players are understood to be considering leaving the club as the fall-out from January’s deferred wages continued, with Nott admitting: “The vultures are circling.” Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Stop trying to wriggle out of it & act the innocent.(as you always seem to do) From a Ramsgate fan, from YOU in particular on a Margate forum?.( I shouldn't assume other red supporters need the same fix). THATS the difference!. We know Exactly what you are doing & you do too! You are quite right though & despite your intervention it IS common knowledge,hence my mention of it yesterday but since then we've heard the true story. Come on now,you need to get a grip & rid yourself of that chip & just be "nice! p.s Your desire to be "first with the news" on other events & happenings occurring around the country,about other clubs etc etc are both informative & welcome though. SteveB Posted February 27, 2010 Share Posted February 27, 2010 I suppose that seeing as both Ramsgate's Manager and Chairman have praised Margate and called us a sleeping giant recently it must be far more appealing to take an active interest in us than Ramsgate. On top of that, as people do actually use our forum there is more chance of getting a response on here within three days than there is on the Ramsgate one. Then why did you post it when it's been discussed on here and on the Maidstone forum. Why would you want to believe a bitter club aswell, even though Phil d (a good friend of Saunders) has explained the situation. You're an ignorant fool who is clearly jealous of us, which i don't know why, maybe because we are the most successful club in Thanet, by a county mile. Stop being stubborn and get over it and pay more attention to the team you support rather then the team you don't, i think you are very poor Ramsgate fan. It seems most of your post on here and the Ramsgate forum are about Margate. One thing which i find interesting about you Ian is that you constantly make up crap about our fans trying to cause trouble, but not one person goes onto forums stirring trouble through out non-league.
