Pitch & weather watch

Eastside Urchin

Recommended Posts

Just returned from the shops where i took a detour to the bridge.

The pitch looks ok from the gate 50 metres away,i had my binoculars on it as well, but it could be deceiving as there may be water just under the surface,i suppose it depends on how the pitch drains, usually it drains ok.

We have had rain overnight but not the amount that was forecast.

Todays forecast is for light showers,it is currently spitting at the moment

There is some sun due after 9am and the wind will remain brisk.

If we don't play today,i doubt looking at the forecast that we will play tuesday as the rain predicted tomorrow is more than we have had in the last week altogether, saying that its supposed to be dry monday and tuesday.

If only we knew someone with a helicopter who could fan the pitch for us

Just noticed on the billericay forum that they have had their pitch covered the last couple of days.

Can we not get covers, how much do they cost, where do we get them from.

I think its something that needs to be looked into as if the predictions of global warming are true the winters are going to get wetter and wetter

Seen these advertised, seems we would need at least two of these.Perhaps its something the supporters club could look into raising money long term for them

We currently have a glimmer of sunshine in upminster but with clouds all around

It is all cojones.. just another way for the world's governments to get extra tax from us.

This weather is cyclical.. we live in a temperate climate on the edge of the Gulf Stream, ergo no predictive weather patterns for us dear boy...
