Iain O'Connell as club manager

I have no idea whether IOC will be a good manager for MFC or not-past records as player at MFC count for nothing.

Obviously i wish him well-in particularas my last memory of him was seeing him carried off on a stretcher(forget who we were playing) when he broke his leg

However, it is good that we have a manager over six foot tall,as daft as it sounds he may just recognise that in this league you need some brute strength in your team;and thus be happy to sign some tall players and bully our way to a better league position.

As a defender-maybe he can even organise a defence-but there again-so in theory was trott.

I was in the same boat but hearing what i've heard today, i'm confident that his the right man for the job. At the moment he doesn't care how we win aslong as we win, he has been made aware by other managers in this league that we have no end product and i'm sure he'll be addressing that and it seems he is going to try and install the same mentality which we had in the Doc Martin days and our first season in the conference into the current squad. He seems very confident which will help with our current squad and add that to the fact that O'Connell, Kiester and Saunders have a great deal of respect for eachother which will i think will be a good thing for the whole squad especially the younger players. I'm confident we are getting very close of having a good set up here.

Interested to read that IOC has been placed on a contract where as MB was refused one. :bartshocked:

That's a very interesting observation Mr Sanderson. Why wasn't Mark Butler given a contract. I guess we'll never know the truth.

oh well what has happened has happened..... future now is the concern and staying in the prem is the main concern!

The words carpet and sweep spring to mind. Kinnear, Trott, Ashby, Yorath. How long will O'Connell last?

At the moment he doesn't care how we win aslong as we win,

Was that what he said tonight-hope so-sounds like my type of girl.

Never mind the nice/better football stuff-just be pragmatic and win no matter how

MM I dont always agree with you on things footballing wise, but am totally in agreement with you on this one, IOC was IMO solid in the "dont care if its pretty - I want the 3 points" department. Also his attitude wasnt cocky he knows he has a mountain to climb and if anyone in this league can do this thankless job; after tonight I believe its HIM..... onwards.

Let's hope so. Just need 7 wins to achieve safety.

Include some odd & unexceptable behaviour whilst in discussions the below link explains why,as was openley explained at the meeting last night. THIS is the truth & nothing has been swept under any carpet.
