Just back from Andover. Not the best performance of the season but 3 points against an average side. Chenns just keeps on scoring! A good finish for the second goal and he won the penalty as well! Another clean sheet even without Fagan and considering we finished the game with Jake at right back, Bruce at left back and Ryan at centre back! Time to dry out i think!

I think that proves our strength in depth, the second half saw us dominate totally without looking like we ever got out of first gear. First half was poor, felt we missed the stability of Fagan in the centre, but cover looked adequate, Butts was fantastic again.

 

Chenns strike for the second goal was indeed good, nbut just felt it was ultimately a comfortable win.

 

the highlight was the incredibly inebriated chap behind the goal under the cover, he sang non-stop and had a cracking time,not sure he knew where he was or what day of the week it was, and thinking we were Slough just added to the fun. Wouldn't like his hangover in the morning!!

 

But another 3 points and the ball is back in Totton's court, come on Frome, do us a favour!!!

Cant see the frome game going ahead if the forcasted rain turns up. glad of that too as more games in a short space of time WILL take its toll!

 

Not a great game but a clean sheet and a win will do me plus chenns is starting on his chase for 200 in fine form!

 

As for that bloke fair play.Backed his side 100% had a laugh with us could take banter but overall a freindly vibe dispite two sets of vocal fans stood next to each other...very different to a certain recent game! I swear i feel drunk just by standing near to him!

 

Tough game saturday. Rest up well lads. We'll be setting off at around half 8 from Slough apparently....I've hysr got word of an all nighter planned for friday night ontop...I'll be on the red bull!!

Thought the Full monty incident at the Tea Bar to Boogie Nights was funny. Gave the Tea Lady a laugh.

Those who've seen the video will only have a small taste of the andover barmy army consisting mostly of one person. He kept going for most the game! Top effort

He was quality, more provincial clubs should invest in one. I wasn't sure he was going to get to the end of spelling out Andover, starting with shouting "A" he followed it up with some undecipherable noises that we are led to believe did actually spell out Andover. I haven't seen anyone enjoy a match as much as he did since we beat slough 6-2.

Another great match report from the Andover site... really fine detail, I'm surprised the author even gets to see more than half the action with the quantity of notes he must be taking down! Well done him... and of course well done to the team for what sounds like another solid performance against determined opposition.

 

And from their forum, it sounds as though you were serenaded by one "Dave the Punk". So a quality experience all round.

Not so much the length of the report that impresses me but the tone. He doesn't take a one sided biased view but a very objective and descriptive view. I love the "giant Richardson" quote and a nod to the confusing short sleeves and gloves combo.

I guess we have a confidence that comes with being top of the league and undefeated as I thought once the second half started we looked comfortable. Once the second went in it was game over, but the first half could easily have ended 1-1 or even worse.

the most interesting part is the the quote "A is for ANDOVER but when it comes to sport in the town it is also for APATHY!", how many clubs do you think also feel the same way about the way their town feels about their local club. We worked really hard to get our club to grow, crowds increased and things started to happen down the club, imagine how difficult that would have been if we had been mid table and playing poorly.
