For games to go ahead wherever possible, not talking about games being played on frozen pitches or pitches covered with snow or when there is surface water all over the pitch but games like ours tonight which are simply called off because it might rain or the ball maybe don't roll as true as it should, many of us were brought up playing and watching football on less than average pitches and it never done us any harm,i know many people are fed up with stupid cancellations on pitches because everyone is worried someone might get injured, could happen in summer when the ground is rock hard but you still play the games.

Its about time all players signed a disclaimer at the start of the season to accept that any injury caused is due to the nature of the game, good idea anyone????

Something needs to be done about this. Clubs are losing money because of these silly postponements.

Referees are supposed to be doing the job for the love of the game,so why do they pick up silly money for turning up at a ground and calling the games off,why can't they just claim expenses instead of ripping off clubs, they shouldn't be using cancellations as a second income.I have no problems with them getting paid for actually refereeing a game but not when they don't.

From Conference North/South down, unless the pitch is obvious to one and all as unplayable...then common sense should prevail.

The referee should ask both managers if they want to give it a go. Okay, there will be some that will be happy to see the game off, but at least you will get a fair percentage started and most finished probably too.

As you rightly say, many a fan hasn't got a clue as to how much a postponement costs a club.

By the way, have you paid the ransom money on your burger bar then?

Whats the worse that can happen on a slightly wet pitch, seriously you would have to be very unlucky to get injured badly,i would say more people are likely tp be injured on a dry hard pitch in the summer,we live in a country were health & safety, and a blame culture that rules our lives, its pathetic
