I was over at the club, the referee who said the game was on then decided that because of a short shower to speak to the actual match official who said it was absolutely bucketing it down in dartford where he lived.Because of this the game was called off in case it rained again.I can see where the official at the bridge was coming from but i don't understand how a game can be called off because it might rain further. The pitch as we speak is playable but because of stupid red tape the game will not go ahead. If the match official got to the game and it was called off it would cost us 100 quid, something must be done about these charges, they can cripple clubs, referees are not full time at this level so why on earth should they get paid such a high rate when a game doesn't gon ahead.I am really p1ssed off with non league football at the moment,it just seems to me that the ref who lives in dartford didn't fancy it as 45 minutes later it hasn't bucketed down here,if it doesn't rain any more tonight then i really will be fuming, something needs to be done as clubs cannot keep getting games called off for a bit of rain

Anyone up for a beer

Nope mate, unfortunatly common sense isn't rife in non league football

I don't really blame the referees they are given guidlines by their employers but i am just flabergastered a game was called off in case it rained more,i would of just thought it better to see what happened later,50 minutes later and it hasn't started raining again.

The pitch was far from perfect but was playable and maybe a heavy shower later would of fcked the pitch and made it unplayable but at least give it a chance

Disagree about the gate,i think it would of been a good gate had it been on,there are no other games in the area still on

The crowds at all ryman clubs are down this season and things like this just makes matters worse, just get the fuking games played where at all possible

I think quite a few of our fans were coming down tonight. Hopefully the game will be arranged when the weather is better.

still not raining.

look i am not saying it won't rain but i want games to be called off because it has rained too much and the surface is unplayable not because it might rain and make the pitch unplayable.

The pitch was heavy but the ball rolled, took a stud etc and as it stands at the moment is playable as it hasn't rained for over an hour now, clubs are backed into accepting decisions likje this because of ridiculously high costs for a referee to call the game off should that happen,if we get another hour or so of dry weather its going to look [censored] stupid not to play the game and just infruriate fans of clubs where gates are already down
