Settling snow

Recommended Posts

Just been driving through the North of the county and Halstead, Braintree, Colcheser has been snowing for a good few hours now and it is settling, nothing in Chelmsford at the moment, but guess it is moving South.

Will the fixtures for midweek be all in doubt again?

When was the last time we had a winter like this - fixtures to finish in June to run alongside the WC.

2000-1.. It rained almost non-stop from November to April.. A few leagues had unfinished games.. I think the ESL scrapped the GBT/HFC that season.

Romford had to play 18 games in April and if results had been different on the last day of the Ryman Premier season, the League had arranged for another game to take place... two hours after the final whistle!

Amazingly there is 20 inches already on the Hullbridge pitch but nothing in the rest of Essex :cheesy (2):

If they could shift it behind the barriers, they could build some igloo covered terraces.

Was the Hullbridge game on Saturday called off due to a frozen pitch? When every other game in the league was due to waterlogged pitch. coffee%20(2).gif

Coachie in your capacity as Director of football @ Hullbridge do you know if there is a early pitch inspection tomorrow so I can plan what local non-league game I go to watch.

Seeing as the Senior league is my favourite I would prefer to watch you versus Burnham than say East Turrock v Concord which is the pick of the Ryman North fixtures

Altough i inherited magical powers from my auntie Meg,i can't really say if the game will be off tomorrow. What i can do is letting everyone know about the game as soon as possible..would say late afternoon tomorrow obviously after a pitch inspection

Just in case you wanna see the Bridge boys in action today and wednesday tune on Hullbridge football channel on 6969 virgin media

I think that season I was playing at Fisher and it had worked out that the reserves hadn't played Maidenhead and the last 2 games of the season were arranged on a Friday night at our ground. The league had wanted one game on the Friday night and one on the Saturday afternoon but the managers agreed to play 2 60min games, 30mins each half on the Friday night. We won the first 7-0 and the second 4-1 think. I was playing wing back and was absolutely f**ked by the end. We then had a night out at the Bon Bonnie in Herne HIll.....nice place.....NOT!

One for Coup & Jenko then, tomorrow 2nd March, it will be exactly two months since the last time Takeley played a league game home or away, 2nd January.

Is this a record for the ESL or was it bettered in season 00/01 by any one club?

The only titbits from THAT season are:

Saffron Walden, who amazingly finished as runners-up, played fourteen league games between August and March, then another 16 in the final 37 days of the season.

And Woodford, who finished bottom, only played one league match between November 18 and February 10.
