327 not bad

nice football at times

Sam gave ball away which led to their opener

Sam then had a shocker after that

Very nice goal in first five mins.

Canvey very poor

We need a new manager and will it be Andy Ford!!

Someone must have some constructive comments.

Thought Healy was good today.

Of not our next oppos. play SIX games in thirteen days. They must be knackered by next Sat.

Todays performance was a massive improvement from Tuesdays, although that was no hard feat by any means. I think if we play like we did in the first half hour, but get more shots on goal and get the ball moving forward instead of across and finish our chances and always look for players in better positions instead of being greedy then we have a decent chance of staying up, but if we play like we did for the remainder of the game especially in the final 3rd at both ends of the pitch then we'll do well to finish 2nd from bottom. Have to say Kiester's recent performance aside out midfield are more then capable in this league the rest of the team need to be on par with them.

not seen first team for a while , but seen lots of Ryman Prem and Ryman south football this season , margate are plenty good enough to stay up and then hopefully build from there for a real push next season , people say on here they aint good enough that is rubbish they are as good as 70% of teams in this league they just need some clear direction ( managerial stability ) , some confidence and belief and maybe just a little bit of luck ,

just one other note on the day , Sam Cliff is a superb prospect , the best very young player ive seen this year at this level and i hope one of the posts preceeding this post is not the start of people saying that he is not good enough etc etc , he probably did not have his greatest game but to see his reaction after their 1st goal told you all you need to know about his great attitude to the club and he really could be a jewel in the crown in the next few years IMO

As a new member to the forum but a reader for some time I have finally decided to join in the banter/contibutions.

Have watched regularly since Trotty's era! Missed out on the glory days of Conference due to parenthood so maybe I'm to blame as it has been downhill ever since but followed Margate since knee high to a grasshopper.

Did not think this season would develop as it has after last years scrape but it looks grim at this stage. Here's hoping for a miracle worker.

On today's performance luck again evaded us and we have to cut out the mistakes - they are crucifying us - that is the difference between bottom 4 and play off challengers. Are the team good enough -with the right management I think they are. We are clearly struggling for a strong bench as substitutions seem off the agenda. Much more positive vibe from crowd today compared to Tuesday and considering current state of club and no win in league in 2010 good crowd. Thought Sam Cliff had poor game not sure what position he was playing or if we were playing 3 or 5 at back but the lad needs an arm round his shoulder as his confidence will be low after today.

Roll on Thursday we need a manager yesterday but difficult next match. Following that crucial 6 pointers at home. If we do get out of this we will have surely appointed the messiah.

I am sorry if you interperet what I said about Sammy Cliff as negative for I to believe that he will become a great player. He made that pass today as he received a call for it .

However, as you rightly say he was devistated by the result from it and where an arm around his shoulder (which would have given him back a bit of self belief) was not forthcoming. We have to remember his age and make allowances for it. Sammmy will come put of todays game a lot stronger from it and become a better player as well.

thought todays game went ok we are getting better ,luck not on our side again didnt expect to win but still go and watch the boys hoping for a miracle, you never know stranger things have happend, sammy did ok not enough first team football to get his confidence gojng but a very good player on his day,sam jones looks a good prospect to.thought defence was poor again and should have replaced keister with morris at the back, goalie looks poor on crosses just like scotty used to,we need a good up front man and more players should take a shot even if it goes wide or sky high just try your luck.fingers crossed for rest of season may the next manager whoever he may be please perform a miracle for us.come on you blues

Sam Cliff just not ready for ryman premier yet but u have to question the decision to play him as a wing back, that will not happen again. Sam jones by far our best player today, just looks a cut above the rest. Dan young ( who I'm not normally a fan off) had a gud game, looks more comfortable in a back 3.

I believe we are very close to being a very good team, things we need - minimum 3 players - big strong centre back who takes no prisioners, wins headers, loves a tackle and scares the striker , A midfielder in the same mode to win the ball and give it too healy, jones and stubbs to do the pretty stuff, and finally a 20 plus a season goal scorer.

That's easy enough isn't it!!!!!!!!!

Thought the new lad Grant had a solid game - is he on loan or like our goalies earlier in the season a one match hire (or 2 in this case)

Not sure I like the three at back with two wing backs (a la Terry Yorath) you need pace and defensive ability in these positions. Lacey does not have the pace and Clarke is better as a winger like Cliff.

Keister had a good game IMO and Duncan looks so assured. Stubbs again had plenty of energy. We need a break (3 points) to lift spirits - both players and supporters.

Strange to see a yellow ball being used when one team had yellow shirts.

Strange offside flag when Joe Healy blocked the keepers clearance, it was certainly a new passage of play and the keeper took several touches before he went to pass upfield. One can only assume the ref was not watching play and relied on his assistant. Shame.

Shoot on sight was not the policy today, perhaps it needs to be now ,there are enought players who can do this.

As he was released by Dover I would assume that he is a free agent and therefore here as long as wants to be or is wanted.

Someone said today that Clarke is expected back next Saturday, which would be a welcome return.

Sammy Cliff is clearly the best young player in Thanet with a great attitude too. Cares about doing well for the club and next year could be a big year for him.

As for us this season. Too much instability and not enough experience. In the Ryman Leagues you cannot get away with playing near enough a whole team of youngsters. Look how long it took Dover to get out of the South - we don't really want to be dropping a level but if we do we certainly can't look at it as easier pickings. It's a scrappy league and experience is needed.

Best young player in Thanet JOE TAYLOR IMO (now at Ramsgate), has the full game to become a TOP STRIKER. He's Big, strong, can hold a ball up, always seems to play other team mates in and doesn't have a problem in knowing where the back of the net is, when he's in the box. Shame he always seemed to be on the bench or play the odd few minutes when he was with the 1st team. He, and I have know doubt in my mind, will be the 20 goals a season player we are looking for plus probably worth double that with his great ability of hold up play, for others to score, coming in from midfield. I for one will miss him greatly at Hartsdown.

Sam very good striker of the ball and ability of running at the opposition with the ball at his feet.

Joe may become a good striker, but he needs more time to develop. He always struck me as light-weight in the Premier Division but he remains a good prospect. Sam - a different type of player - also still has to develop, but the combination of playing the Kent U-18's and for Margate are paying off. He is already skilful and prepared to put himself about a bit. OK, he needs to be more composed at times but like Joe, he's still developing. And you'll not see a better cross in this divisions this season than the one he prodcued late in the game at Hendon from which we scored the winning goal.

Waffle waffle waffle waffle, what was the score we lost 2-1 end of discussion. Ifs, buts, maybes, he played well he did that great skill and this and that. fact is we lost again, i dont bloody care if we scored a 90 foot volley and lost 2-1. Its all about the result not excuses and same old points. We havnt even won a league game this year and its nearly March, WHAT A JOKE and as for swearing on terrances tough thats football, if you dont like it dont go. Only Margate FC could shoot themselves in the foot with this, stewards being egotistic idiots, get a life this is football, id love to see a visiting team visit Margate with 300 or so supports and tell them not to swear. Live in the real world we are not a nanny state or North Korea at Margate FC, whats happened to freedom of speech!!! Im sorry ive never known any other club ever complain re swearing and ive been to loads of away games watching the Gate, why is always Margate FC again just shake my head in dissapointment.

Re. Sam Cliff. Big mistake to play him at full back, and he should have been switched with Robinson after about 10 mins instead of waiting until half time. By then it was too late and his confidence was shot.

Also, what is Healy doing up front? We need a decent manager double quick.
