Not a very impressive performance in my view although I think we were a bit unlucky with the disallowed goal. I don't think James Baker moves fast enough to get offside.

A couple of terrific saves from Paul Nichols which kept us in the game.

A case of a dodgy formation again. I thought we looked much more dangerous when Jacob Cleaver came on and went to the 4-4-2 formation. I haven't seen him play before but he looked fast and good positional sense, looked close to scoring.

Hearing cry for support, I came in force.

But, OMG !!!!!!! What has happen there?

Its heart breaking.

I just couldn’t believe what I saw with my own eyes,

Others had mention what a mess it is, but come on guys

You have just got to be kidding me????

Wake up!!!!! Before it’s to late.

You have everything and everyone there,

The only thing? it’s in the wrong order!

Mind you, some thing never change, the café bartshocked.gif LoL .

First 15 minutes were very pleasing on the eye and Wildy once again scored. Then we seemed to sit back a bit and invite Maidstone on to attack, but for a few great saves from Nicholls we remained in front.

Second half we started slowly and Maidstones Barnes scored from my view a fairly good cross-goal finish. We then brought Jacob Cleaver on and i thought he put in a great performance, was unlucky not to grab himself a goal. Baker goal disallowed, not convinced he was offside. Referee grew more and more frustrating as the game went on.

One question i must ask is, Why is Shinn still taking freekicks? I saw yesterday that bar one of his freekicks the rest were useless and usually failed to beat the first man. From some of the positions they were in i would expect players to be taking a shot from them.

All in all maybe a draw was a fair result.

You were up early Brightside Bloke! ;-)

Was disappointed that we had a disallowed goal from Baker but agree that Cleaver looked great and should play more often. Disappoinnted at the linesman who disallowed Baker's goal, in fact he harldly made any decisions for himself reacting to calls from the players. Very disappointed with Nichols having a go at fans (unprofessional IMO). When is Andy Walker back he has been out for 4 weeks now? Just how much sex does a newly wed get? ;-) Now that he is married I expect him back!

I thought a draw was a fair result and this game kind of typified what we’ve been about over the last couple of months.

The vast majority of the players put in the effort and you do feel that they are together as a group, which is a good thing– but it continues to be the same problems that we suffer from – not enough goals and not good enough home form.

I agree that Cleaver has done well, but it’s not fair to expect a 16-year old kid to bail us out. I did hear that Billy might be able to play some part next week and that we hope to be able to bring someone in as well – it’s obvious that’s what we need – but it has been obvious for a long time.

You do feel that if we can sort out our issues up top we could be a decent side at least – but action is needed now as we continue to trundle along near the bottom.

I’m still hopeful we’ll be ok, but some more wins would be nice please.

Come on you Blues!!

I agree that Cleaver should start more on that performance. We were a much better side when he came on. I thought that Danny had a great game, but we must start winning at home. I noticed that Maidstone have only 2 wins at home this season though so hopefully we will pick up some points there. 3 points are vital against Aveley now.

Come on you Blues. Good to see the attendance was up.

A hard earned point against a decent looking Maidstone side. Our goal scoring problem is well documented so lets hope for some positive news on that front soon. Shinn had a mare of a second half but other than that, we played OK and it was a case of gaining the point rather than dropping two. If we can get a forward in sooner rather than later, then we'll start to pull ourselves up the table quickly. We need to keep the numbers coming in through the turnstiles, it hurts this club big time for every person that decides to stay away.

Thought the draw was just about right - two evenly matched teams who probably meritted their current league placings taking all things overall. Nicholls made a couple of good stops (but needs to stop winding up the opposition supporters - nothing has changed in that respect from days past when he stood against us) but the distribution from the back was poor time and again. By now we know we know what to expect from Cousins - shimmy inside then the hoof to the opposition - but more unusual to see Wild and Kersey joining in! Another thing I fail to understand is why Shinn has to try and play the glory ball every time he does the hard bit by winning it? Not one of his better days yesterday as has been commented elsewhere but sometimes he is, in my opinion, the creator of his own downfall - just win it and keep it simple is fine given the circumstances that the team are in at the moment.

Cleaver made a difference when he was brought on (credit to BS for making the substitution in time for it to have the chance to work - it nearly did) and looks promising in that he already has a nuisance value that defenders find irritating and off putting and he got himself into some really good positions on a number of occasions.

Bakers goal should have stood - he came from behind the last defender to notch - in fact the full back and keeper had already commenced their arguement about how that had happened before realising the linesman (who was very poor throughout) had ruled the goal out for offside! James ran and ran again all afternoon but oh how he needs goals to make the real big difference to his game. I'm still not sure if this is due to massive bad luck or him not being quite good enough for the Premier level - for all the praiseworthy effort he struggles to get back quickly enough into a dangerous attacking position after laying the ball off and, when presented with decent goal scoring chances, he gets knocked off of the ball too easily when aiming his strike. I really hope he proves me wrong and goes on a rich scoring vein but, right now, I just don't see that happening.

Good performances from Pond and Green again yesterday but still a long way to go if we are to escape the magnet of the dreaded drop zone.

Last observation from me for now, the Maidstone right back struggled everytime Dave Wareham ran directly at him. So why did this event only happen less than a half dozen times throughout the entire match?.....answers on a postcard to..........

John m as always your posts and observations are spot on, their right back was very poor, had we a player that could have taken advantage of this we would have created many more scoring chances, I think our main problem is not our forwards but our wide players, we just dont seem to have that player who can push past the full back and drill in those dangerous crosses.

Baker IMO plays far to deep and actually encroaches on the midfields territory, and the lack of wide players causes this system to be totally ineffective.

I can't add to anything that hasn't all ready been said. A hard earned point, which could've been three, if Bakers goal stood. We've seen Assistants make these decisions time and again and it's almost "when in doubt...".

There has been an improvement in how we play over the past couple of weeks but it could've been "oh so" better if the distribution was a tad better (understatement there).

With the weather looking like sh*te over the coming week, I wonder if the Sittingbourne game will be on. The pitch was looking good until our visitors decided to pre match train on the softest part of the pitch and an additional game before Thursday, may do more harm than good.

I thought we came out for the first 10 minutes and went for them...that is where we reaped the reward of the goal, but after 15 we looked like we were going to sit back. Wild must be up in the scoring charts presently ! Great strike for the equaliser, and then it looked like there only going to be one winner, but the last 15 minutes we started to push up and that is where i think our strengths lie...It is a shame we do not do that for more of a game...look what we achieved against Canvey when we did. But a point added to the 3 from Margate is ok. I too thought Shinns freekicks looked auful, but maybe that was an off day ?

Nice TV in the bar

Was good to get to a game

Good drink afterwards

Good company in clubhouse from all n sundry

Even had a snow storm outside

And Where the hell was car that went down a ditch ???

I enjoyed the day and that is with a draw....more folk down the club would also enjoy themselves cos win/lose or draw...Hell !!! its only a game :)
