Slough Town 2-2 Sutton Coldfield

Agreed Ian.

In both the Sutton games their manager made changes that influenced the outcome of the game, bringing on subs that changed the game. I can't think of an a game this season where this has happened for Slough.

A shame results went against Slough but prior to the game I would have taken a point against Sutton. They are a team highly rated in this league and will push the likes of Slough and Chesham for a place in the play-offs having just missed out last season, and with 2 games in hand they can close the gap between them and 5th.

As I've said previously all that is stopping Slough for truly competing at the summit of the league is their defensive record.

I disagree with that. I think we have changed our shape and tactics at times. Take Romulus at home for example when we were 2-1 down at home. Bateman took off Dwain Clark and put on Dean Clark. Went 3 at the back with Sweeney in defence and Murphy and Sincs as wing backs. Changed the game at that time and when it went 2-2 we looked the only likely winners.

What concerns me a little more is our energy and will to win when we go behind/are drawing. Take Sutton Coldfield on the opening day, or Hemel (away), Uxbridge (away), Woodford (Home) or even Tooting when we were in difficult situations. Rushing to take throw-in's and getting the ball back and looking to score, which we always looked likely to do.

Whereas since the start of 2010 we are behind/drawing there seems no real rush to do things and up the tempo, and it's like our heads are so down so much we look resigned to deafeat/a draw whereas earlier in the season it looked like there was more of a 'never say die' attitude . That is part of the reason I thought we would come close to winning the league this season.

We desperately need that back as it's gone missing of late when things go wrong.

It was basically the first day of the season all over again, except this time we can't blame the fact that we have a brand new team in a brand new league.

As many people have said, it was very disappointing to see the team drop that 2 goal lead when we could so easily have been further ahead at the break. We were so comfortable across the whole of the park that at half time there was no way we could have thrown it away the way we did...but we did not react well to the changes made by Sutton Coldfield.

The first goals was a simple mistake, that header could have gone anywhere, but the second goal was poorly defended at the back post, which is quite annoying considering some of our corners never break past the first man.

We are still 12 points inside the playoffs, but Sutton Coldfield do have 2 games in hand on us, and the teams above us are starting to edge away, and Chesham are starting to catch us. No need to panic just yet but we need to regain the consistancy we had before the postponed Hitchin game and the snow break.

Looking at the weather outside Chris, unless Burnham's pitch drains well I'd lay odds you won't miss a single kick.

Yes, we had a terrible half, but the negativity on this forum is beginning to piss me off.

We are still looking like we should hit the play offs (something that not even the most optimistic of us would have predicted a year ago)

Our defence is conceeding too many goals.... how many had we letr in at this point last season?

However you look at it, we are on the up, and we should stop whining about it, we have hit a dodgy run (a certain team in red from up north just got spanked by everton whilst they are ona bad run) It happens. i think we are very close to having a very good side, a bit more competition ina few positions is all we need.

I agree with the post above ill be very surprised if Burnham is on tomorrow!

Guys, dont panic, we have enough quality in the current squad and good management to make the play offs. People seem to have short memories. We are lucky to have

Steve Bateman as manager and also the players he has brought in. Keep the faith (sounds like a Chris Sliski comment!)
