We have some good skilful players, including quite a few local ones.

 

We still have a lot of loyal support, even if a few have drifted away.

 

There will probably be 'reprieves' again this season, so it is unlikely three teams will be relegated.

 

Even if we do go down, a season in South might not be so bad. At least we should do well, renew our local rivalry, and get to visit some different places. And it didn't do Dover any harm, did it?

 

The ground has potential, and is pretty good for our level (despite what some are saying: have a look at Southwood if you think HDP is bad!).

 

The clubhouse is one of the best.

 

And some more plus points I haven't thought of yet. Feel free to add yours.

A big plus point is we now have a great commercial manager/director in Cliff Egan.

Ahhhh but can he score goals Al, we are seriously lacking in THAT department at the mo

And plenty of people willing to give their time to act as stewards, run the turnstiles, sell programmes and 50/50s, run the bar, organise special events etc. Way better than most clubs at our level.

 

And also of course superb commentaries and PA announcements (thanks Wellsie!). Way better than most other clubs.

 

And a good matchday programme with plenty of info and stats.

 

And a website that compares very favourably with others at our level.

Would like to say Thanet Utd had some really good players who could quite easily get into RPL teams, it was not all bad, The clubhouse was built during that time, the golden gate lottery was started, and we had advert boards all round the ground, + many other things including a hard working supporters cmtee. We also had a hard core of support, and one of the best away support in the league. Above all it was fun, if not frustrating at times.

Actually Wellsie could you play that on Saturday, after listening to some of the stuff you put on matchdays you must have it.

 

I seem to remember Billericay playing it after we beat them 1-0 at thier place and they ended up finishing quite high up in the league, maybe it could work for us. lol
