Boreham Wood Game Postponed

The Ryman League have agreed to the postponement of Thursday's scheduled RPL game away to Boreham Wood. Had this game gone ahead it would have meant four games in the space of eight days for the Urchins. The date for the re-arranged game will be announced shortly. Also Chelmsford are due to play Aveley this evening with the winners away to the Urchins in the Essex Senior Cup Semi-Final.

the league have come to their senses, i for one not sorry to see this fixture postponed,seriously think it would have worked against us and probably would of had a knock on affect against wealdstone on saturday which is a massive game for both sides,we will be nice and fresh ,unless the angels do their usual and try and kick us off the park

I wish they wouldn't leave it till the last minute though,some people have cancelled things to try to get to this game,perhaps the sensible thing for the ryman league to do would not bother playing games on thursdays in the first place,its not needed and a tuesday game could of been fitted in in a few weeks time as i am sure is the case,i have a mate who is a borehamwood fan,he said that it was because a sutton united official moaned about their game with borehamwood being played on a thursday,therefore ours has been called off as well

Agree with both posts, just common sense not to play four games in eight days. Left it late to make the decision which will put people out (not me, I couldn't have made it anyway!)

The match has been re-arranged for Tuesday 9th March at 19:45.

Personally I think they should of waited until today to call it off. If tonight's match is off then we've got another back up of fixtures

I think you are right,while i don't think it is necessary to play games on a thursday yet,it had been arranged so should of stood(weather permiting)

The forecast for today was bad,surely the people making the decisions could of said yesterday that had the games tonight gone ahead then borehamwood game could then be called off,but with tonights cancellation surely it would of made sense to play the game thursday,getting it out the way
