As a short-term appointment to get us out of the bottom four - why not? His teams always battle hard and that's what we need now. He also got a team to the Ryman play-offs on a fraction of the budget Trott had that season. Obviously he gets up people's noses but football is about results not popularity.

Finding a quality manager mid-season is not easy. Especially in the current circumstances which don't reflect entirely well on the club. If I was a top Ryman-level boss would I really want to come to Margate?

The incentive for KP could be that he would be signing someone who (to some sections of the Margate support) would take over the title of being the most unpopular member of the MFC staff.

Whilst i can't see it happening, i think it would actually be a very good apppointment and if that reallly is the last of Butler ,then Ward would be a decent alternative imo.

 

This is not a popularity contest-its a very serious business of being pragmatic ,and getting someone in quickly who knows his way around the league.

 

Our situation is worsening-we don't need pretty football and niceness-we need blunt aggression.

 

Whilst i rated both Yorath and in particular Butler,their records were'nt very good.

 

If Ward got 5 wins out of the next 12 games-he would become popular all of a sudden

Ward will NOT i repeat NOT be a good appointment, he's tempermental, never has a plan B, struggles with his plan A and i'm not in the mood to watch Margate hoofing the ball for 90 minutes in every game. Tactically he is a poor manager and this was proven when Danny Ward left the club

I'm not sure why this conversation is actually happening, it won't happen and will never happen. Ward was clearly being sarcastic in his interview...I can only hope he was
