Interesting comments from our recently departed manager: "I would get around the table with them (board) but I don't think they will want to....... I'm down about the whole thing and I would like to be the manger of Margate football club" - perhaps a dramatic return can't be ruled out? Also says he didn't demand an 18 month contract but wanted some assurances about being manager next season re long term aims which KP couldn't give. Personally, can't see him coming back now. If we are not prepared to appoint anyone beyond the end of the season then will we get anyone of any calibre?

Interesting comments and all sounds a bit amateurish. He obviously enjoyed it here and it appears there could be a lifeline. But there will have to be some give and take, and I'm not sure that one side are willing to give.

The only reason MB has gone is because Gordan Wallis is not around now which is a shame . Basically this says the board do not work together .

Without MB we will get relegated lose what we have got as some lads will go or some will demand a transfer request . If and its a big if but if MB is reinstated then we have a chance of keeping who we have and staying up paving the way for some proper pre season sorting , training , developing , fitness and hope . As a few have said and the list seems to be growing pick up the phone KP and get MB back . Weather he was your choice or not it should be for the sake of the club and not over a silly matter like this .

Up the Gate .

I’ll not generally comment on this issue but what you have said is a massive assumption and not one that I would subscribe to having had a number of conversations over the last five days or so.

Someone else in another post I think mentioned trust. That is a fundamental issue and sometimes, for whatever reason, things happen that call mutual trust into question. No single party has to actually do something to break trust – it’s often about perception. However, in this case, both parties have made their positions clear – certainly in private if not fully in public - so perhaps it’s time to respect the differenecs and (sadly) move on.

It may take time-but is it not possible that trust and respect can be rebuilt ?

Some marriages take a major jolt-and then grow stronger because of that.

I guess my response to that Michael would be, yes sometimes, and not many. In both cases, time tends to be the healer, and that's one thing the club doesn't have.

The important thing is that the club needs to put someone in place ASAP. It usually takes time to get a manager in, but we do not have time on our side. Even if it only takes two weeks, that it is about 4 matches without a leader, and that is not acceptable. We are desperate for points NOW. Even if someone was appointed tomorrow it would take time to get to know the players. What we haven't got is anybody who is involved in the club who can pass information on to a new manager. That is the problem with bringing in a manager and assistant who both come and go at the same time. I have remained positive this season, but I really can't see us getting out of the relegation zone this season now.
