Not too sure, to be honest. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and claim he was playing in a team that were way out of their depth in Division One, and maybe with a bit more quality (don't laugh!) around him, he'll show what he's capable of.

 

Surely Postiga and Keane will be the first choice partnership though.

 

Wouldn't mind seeing Spurs (and St Albans for that matter) try and sort out their defence now, though!!

I've heard Anderton, Thatcher, Iversen and Doherty are all leaving.

Yep! Anderton's off to Portsmouth, Thatcher has already gone to Leicester, Iversen is off to Wolves.

 

It's a shame Doherty's going, but the other three won't be missed. Iversen had so much potential, but last season he scored just one goal in 22 appearances.

 

Saying that, I think he'll be a good signing for Wolves.

P.S. I've heard that Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira are both off to Chelsea, and that Russian will go to any price to get them!

Quick question: who would you rather have in your side, Henry or Vieira? A Sheff Wed-supporting mate said Henry, because somewhere you can find another Vieira playing in the lower divisions, but it's a lot harder to find another Henry.

They really ought to consider a ground share with Charlton and allow North London to fully comply with clean air policy requirements

 

In football terms if we do not buy Phillips I can see Kean taking Ted!s place and Bobby and our Portuguese international being the front two

If we can afford one more serious buy then Parker from the Valley will do nicely

I don't see much point in getting rid of Anderton on a free - On his day he can be as good as anyone in midfield.

I think the [****!!****]' will accept a 20M bid for Viera, they can't be so stupid not to realise that he's not going to sign a new contract. Better to do a Kewell than a Campbell, mind you how much would you love it if he wandered off on a free, Arsenals biggest assett in a time when they are skint.

I think they may well accept a bid for Vieira, but I think Chelsea will struggle to wrench Henry away.

If Vieira goes it will only be to Real Madrid

A. very few others can afford him

B. He must be aware that going to Man U would create havoc for the rest of his career in the UK

But lets not kid ourselves we are discussing one of the very best world class players around and no matter how the filth from Woolwich protest when it happens there is no way he can be replaced

As was the case with Bobby Moore, Dave Makay etc these are once in a life time players
