Mangotsfield may have been lucky with the timing, but I can't really deny they deserved a draw. They looked really up for it, never let us settle on the ball and marked closely: and we all looked rather disjointed, too many long or wasted balls forward and the short passes were too often rushed or intercepted. Only Jake seemed able to break free a couple of times, and when we did get opportunities we really didn't use them well - Butts and Gavin were most culpable in front of goal...

Absolutely cracking shot for our first goal, though. I was just that second saying "oh, he can't shoot from there" when ST did... fine timing. I guess the goalie was as surprised as I was - and if only our followup attack had worked, we really seemed to come alive for a few minutes.

We keep a decent lead but could really do with a couple of wins to break well clear. Still, for now it's only a blip...

Only my second visit to Stag Meadow and another enjoyable game. I was surprised at how committed Mangotsfield were. Their midfield put in one heck of a shift and I think for their efforts they deserved something out of the game. That said, W&E had enough chances to have won 2 games. That said, Totton lost so not such a bad Saturday all round eh? And I was surprised how good the pitch looked considering the recent weather and reports I have heard.

Glad you enjoyed your visit. At full time i'm not sure i could say the same. Lost in the darts and chased around the ground by two little kids who seem to be the the devil reborn combined!! ( Sorry Matt but they are cute at the same time!) As you say we created chances, mostly in the first half. Not sure Thy did enough to deserve to score but its not like it was a toal injustice!

Still...We get a point more than totton which is more than we expected before today so not too bad! Big midweek. If this time next week we are the same amount of points ahead i'll be happy...thats right! I will be happy!

I thought we played well in patches and defended well. If Gavin and Pearce had more match practice or the two early chances had fallen to Chenns it would have been a different story, but it wasn't. AS the results for the day went our way not too bad, still undefeated and a point off of a not half bad team. Every team is raising their game against us (and Totton by all accounts) so we just have to keep doing what we're doing.

The fact they scored in the last minute was a bit of a sucker punch, but it had been coming for a while and they ultimately deserved a point in my opinion.

highlight of the day has to be Malc dancing round the club house after an 84 checkout, like a child who has just found a tenner outside a sweet shop. Good finish mind, but his little face lit up like xmas.

As for the game we were much better than last week and the game was better, thought Kristen played well for Seeds, fought well, distributed well, covered a lot of ground and a great goal. Much better in the middle than on the wing, I am confident we can get back to winning and this Wednesday would be a great place to start.

UTR!!!
