dannyriding
I see the bandwagons arrived again. You really don't have a clue do you! Dont stop him Cookie, maybe he will stump up half a mill or so thats so desperately needed and drive the Club to the dizzy heights he can obviously provide. Or maybe he is the next manager and can bring in our saviour players to dig us out of the relegation zone!!!! Reality is until someone can/will pay for the position of Chairman/Director KP is our only and best hope of survival. NUFF SAID

Boney Crisp
I think it's obvious that i'm not Pipers biggest fan and yes although he's the one that has kept the club going and he is our only hope of survival at the moment isn't he the one who got in this position in the first place? and once there, isn't he the one who essentially carried on financing our demise? Sadly the club is in a no win situation and if i'm honest if there was a choice to carry on watching Margate fall further and further down in the pecking order or to start from scratch where we can only go upwards and the people involved with the club only had success in mind for the club. I'd take the latter option at this moment in time, people may call me silly, go ahead but this fiasco has gone on for far too long now, to keep making up excuses to why we here and why we are going nowhere. As bodyform so rightly put it in another thread a day or 2 ago, the club doesn't care about the fans. It's time for those who are involved to stand up and be counted and stop hiding behind false promises.
left the forum
Sorry I have always read these pages but never commented before so sorry for butting in on your conversation. I presume you dont mean Cliff and Richard when you say Croonies as Cliff has been bringing in money over the last few months and working extremely hard. DEREK
How stupid we all are, Bungalow Bob has the answers, (sorry welshbob), I suppose he has the money and knowhow to run the club, the other negative idots using this site at the moment might like to join him, if they can't put up shut up, better still just sod off. PS . The negative idiots know who they are. PPs I for one will give my backing to whoever the new man is, and I will not knock KP, he could just walk away then where will we be. blueblood
I was at the club working for MLZ when MB resigned, I walked in just after KP had put the phone down, to say he and cliff were in a state of shock was to put it mildly. As 17 say's, "sitting behind a keyboard sniping at each other or the club", doesn't help and as "Cookie" say's "You really don't have a clue do you!". left the forum
Also please remember some of the people running the club are trying to do their job for the club and run a full time business of their own, leaving them no free time of their own. Maybe less moaning more helping.

rayw
As an outsider looking in, its hard to see where Margate fc are going. The last few seasons have been one disaster after another. Unlike some of the more recent cynics i really gave up much hope for the club after the groundshare at Ashford. It just seemed to be such an amazingly stupid plan. The potential of the club is really huge. Biggest town in East Kent no league club within 40 miles...And yet that potential seems further away than ever from being realised. How much of that can be blamed on one man, i really dont know. But he does seem to have a real problem with lots and lots of different people....Stadia management, link, fellow directors, the council etc. Its not good for MFC to have such a controversial figure in charge....If he really does love the club hopefully he will realise that and step aside for others to take ther club on. I hope for the sake of all the fans past, present and future (hopefully!) that KP does decide to move on. It must be quite stressful for him at times but maybe he is a bit addicted to that. Chris1
I was under the impression that Mr Piper and the other directors were putting money into the club to keep it going. If that is so how will their stepping down help? Edited February 12, 2010 by Chris1
rayw
I was under the impression that Mr Piper and the other directors were putting money into the club to keep it going. If that is so how will their stepping down help? It would probably help if his involvement ends and other people with less baggage take over the club. I dont think anybody knows who has invested what in the club. I think the club has lost the faith of most potential suppoorters (including those who might invest) and i dont see it coming back in a hurry. The lack of progress on and off the pitch looks set to continue until there is a change at the top. Hope i am wrong and that if KP stays he does get things right eventually. There was something on the news today about Margate having 27% of shops empty,it would be good for the town if there was a local success story to talk about rather than depressing news. Coffin Ender
You are assuming there are other people out there prepared to put money into the club? I think the club is playing at its natural level. Conf South is the highest we can aim for. Sure, ideally I would like us to be higher in the Ryman Premier but people seem to have the notion we ought to be a Conference team. The truth is we could do better, but we really ain't doing that badly.
MummyBunny
does anyone think that once dreamland is built back up again and margate actually has something that people want to visit, then our fortunes may change? or is that just me lookin at things through rose coloured glasses?? It will bring money back into thanet which is sorely needed imo

Chris1
Funny how people say 'invest in the club'. An investment is when you are expecting to get more back than you put in. Throw away money / gamble recklessly / pursue an expensive hobby / buy the opportunity to be abused for not being rich enough, yes. But invest? No.
