Bring Back Yorath & Southall

The reason the manager left wasn't over a contract offer. Its just what is being made public so Margate don't look like the bad guys. He was told after the game that he was allowed to play (and I forget how it was worded) either his best striker, which I guess would mean Blackman, or the most expensive striker, which I am guessing is Joseph because he was costing the club too much per game. I am guessing this is because of either goal bonuses or appearance bonuses.

Manager obviously struggling in the relegation zone needs to play his best players, argued that but wasn't going to win, so rather than stick around and watch the budget and hope dwindle, left.

Everyone knows Southall wanted the job, so he'll take it rather than go through having to go through applications again, and possibly compensation for a club, at least until we know what league we are going to be in.

I think you need to be careful what you say on here John, surely the only two people who know what was said are the Chief Executive (KP) and Mark Butler, unless you are one of them in disguise ;)

I know Alan, but I'm not afraid to say what I know.

I love Margate Football club, i don't hate the board, or think KP should leave or anything like that, I just think the truth should be told.

You don't necessarily have to be either of them to know whats gone on.

I know you are John, just wanted to make sure you were 100% certain thats all, as you know what Chinese whispers can do.

Mr Kirby, your comments reminded me of something a I read in the paper earlier this week. Sam Jones was released by Ramshite because he was their most expensive player and wasn't do enough for them. That suggests that he is more expensive (and therefore a bigger strain on our already strained budget) than Kenny Pratt and Joe Taylor were/ would be. Are you sure this "most expensive player" you mention wasn't him and not Joseph, as this has come after he was signed?

I know MB quite well, I dont think thats true, I think he wanted to work under any remit the club had, but didnt want the remit changing every week, we got no money this week we are signing Carl Rook the next, he was given the task of doing some dirty jobs again I got the impression no problem with the tasks, just wanted the board to back him

The impression I get from some today is that people are citing financial insecurity as a reason for not handing out contracts. Well we were in serious $hit in the summer and TY was given blessing to put twelve players on contracts. Work that one out!

I feel very strongly that the club SHOULD have made MB the backbone of the club going forward. Put him on a contract for 18 months and said right you go and keep us up and recruit for next year.. we're backing you to the hilt but obviously, we need to be sensible with the budget etc. Clearly we've been running a tight ship - no problem with that, but you don't have to alienate the manager to ensure the financial well-being of the club.

Now where the hell are we supposed to go? Keister (No smoke without fire)? O'Connell (unproven at a decent level)? Caretaker until the summer? I hope I am very wrong but I can't see how we're gonna pick up another 25 points.
