Guernsey Tom
What a very strange development, seems its a matter of principle perhaps? shame really as i thought last nights performance was as good as I had seen this season, even though we only got a point. More upheaval no doubt and uncertainty this is becoming a joke !!!
bodyform
laughing stock of the league how many more managers are gonna come and go, with this track record why would anyone wanna come to mfc??
dannyriding
I would have thought asking for a contract after such a medicore reign (thats not a criticism) as manager was maybe MB admitting defeat/opting out of an untenable situation, lets face it in todays financial climate being a non-league manager is a thankless job at the best of times so IMO he used this contract thing to his advantage. He did actually bring in some good players and the team did showed great signs of improvement, however as we all know now it was not to be..... heyho - anyone wanna have go. Porka
Sad to see the best manager we've had since CK (by a mile) depart. A new low.

Might not be far off there. Disapppointed that Piper didn't choose to back the manager though. Then again KP doesn't get to away games these days does he so hasn't seen the improvement. Shame. We're an hour from London, don't pay big money anymore, dwindling and by and large moany support. Who would want to play for us? WelshBob
PIPER has to go. It's been one f()ck up after another. I've said it before, it's all about the development. And look at how successful that has been. London and Margate don't give a sh!t about the fans or the football. Say what you like about the Rams but at least they've got stability and are not a laughing stock. I may just defect 'cos MARGATE AND THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THE CLUB ARE A F()CKING JOKE! Mark Butler may possibly be a man of principle and resigned because of that, we don't know. Ashby knew his own mind and because he didn't brown nose Piper was sacked - absolutely appalling. The club is being taken to hell in a hand cart and as far as I'm concerned can go to hell because the word "respect" has all but dissapeared. Gringo
Absolute farce this club is becoming, 6 game bans for singing naughty songs! more cr@p about the plans being submited for our fantastic new stadium. Managers leaving left right and centre, crowds dropping by the week. The board need to sort this mess asap! until they do, Many of the lost supporters wont be back. Cookie
With or without Butler we will NOT be relegated.I have every faith that there are at LEAST 4 teams worse than us & that justice will be seen to be done come the end of the season. We may only finish 5th bottom but i.m.o. we have enough to survive the season. Results WILL come with WHOEVER is managing this side. Who knows they might improve even quicker than even I think they will because of the change.. Edited February 10, 2010 by Cookie

Well "sour grapes" and "vendetta" are the terms that come to mind from your post Bob, without the information needed you boldly blame the club / directors for us ; not being top of the league, in a higher league or just that they havent consulted you for obviously unbiased views you graciously provide as soon as something goes wrong at MFC. Not one fan that I personally know wishes we were'nt in a better state of affairs but welcome to non-league, scratch that football in general as all clubs seem to be in some sort of dilema nowadays. :coffee (2): Edited February 10, 2010 by dannyriding
WelshBob
You need a reality check pal, not me. I got no vendetta. In fact it is those in charge of the club that hold vendettas. I know of people who have been warned off for daring to air a view on here, and I stopped going when I heard Pipers trained monkey wanted to know who I was when I was having an after-match pint. Needless to say I kept my head down and left, others weren't so fortunate. Done me a favour actually 'cos I've saved a fortune and not had to put up with crap football. BluePineapple
Well I for one won't be sending Butler a Sorry your leaving card. Never really warmed to the bloke and to ask for an 18 month contract, who did he think he was Alex Ferguson. Did he not think the money could have been better spent on getter a new player or two!! Your Thanet website seems to say that Beeks has also gone, but official website doesn't point to that. Guess we will have to wait till tomorrow for confirmation on that. My vote goes to Ian O'Connell, who in my mind should have got the job in the first place. Hears hoping it doesn't unsettle the lads to mucb for Sat. Onwards & upwards it's not as if we haven't been herre before!!! Up the Gate. Edited February 10, 2010 by BluePineapple

NO, and if you havent been to Hartsdown for ages (apparently saving a fortune) why are you posting on a website called "FANSFOCUS", seems to me you are the one that needs the reality check PAL.... Andy .
Whoever manages the club will not be good enough . Personally i think he could have taken us places given time but i also think MB was made to believe that he would get more from Margate than what he actually got . If Ian Oconell gets the job dare anyone slag him off if it goes wrong . My only worry is this is no where near the Margate he left behind as a player so he has much much more to do than just get it right on the field . Good luck to MB and thanks and good luck to Ian if he gets the job .
SteveB
I am very, very disappointed by this. I really do think that given time MB would have got us into a winning mindset and think that he certainly had the potential to be the best manager since CK. If the search starts again who, with the proven track record at this level that we would require, would want the job? As said before we are out on a limb geographically and it is extremely hard to entice people to come all this way for a home game unless we are paying the sort of money that we cannot justify these days.
