Mark Butler resigns as manager

A shame but I did think MB was quiet after last nights game, especially as he asked Steve Beeks to do post match interview.

Looks like PhilD might get his wish then ;)

I'm told Beeks and Butler haven't been on the best of terms recently either, looks more like a jump before you're pushed scenario to me.

Bring back the big man!

Could be more in it I guess Chris, we will need to see what tomorrow's statement says.

Would think there is more to it as an "ambitious" manager surely this wont look too good on his C.V., also I presume MB wasnt on a contract!!! whats that tell you.

Beeks certainly spoke on post match interview as if he was here long term, maybe Brickie is right as only MB has been mentioned as resigning.

I know its easy to say now, but I listened to the interview this morning, and nearly posted on the forum that it sounded like Beeks was vying for the managers job. I think it was three times that he said, "when I was manager at Moseley", and talked about what was expected from the team short term. Coincidence? maybe not.

I would say this wouldn't I, but I do urge caution about making assumptions with regard to what might or might not be behind Mark's decision. It's often not as complicated as it might seem. In any case, I thought this link to Your Thanet would provide some insight.

In any case, I certainly enjoyed working with him. He has been approachable and keen to be open and communicate with the supporters and deserves credit for that.

That Your Thanet article makes for interesting reading: "Butler leaves Margate in the Ryman Premier relegation zone, having guided them to two wins, five wins and five draws during his time in Thanet"

Shame it wasn't interesting enough for the writer to proof read it...
