Ware v ETFC

Great comeback, not helped by a truly appalling refereeing performance: two stonewall penalties and one strong shout waved away; Blackburne pulled down on the edge of the box when about to go one-on-one, not even a free kick (and you know I'm not normally one to moan about refs. He was that bad).

Maybe the triple substitution was five minutes too late?

The Ware keeper (who upset Medders severely at Canvey a few years back) was giving it large at 3-0 but had gone all quiet come the final whistle.

All six goals scored uphill.

No photos from me, and I'm not sure Phil or Andy were there either.

It was a great spectacle (well the second half was for a Townie). I take my hat off to the good ball playing Ware players, everyone of them to a man were very light on there feet (even the number 3 who ought to lay off the double doner kebabs and milkshake diet), they moved the ball around quickly and utilised their wide men well (Marshall and Drysdale). Max Mitchell was running the show in midfield with absolutely fantastic one touch crossfield pass's as well, their manager must have been purring at half time. At this point the ref was already having a nightmare having failed to send off Mackay for a blatant 2 footed tackle and Kirbys handball on the line with the scores at 3-0 (I think), Kirby could argue the ball hit him but his hand was chest height and into his body. I've seen them given, but we were later to find out that this ref was not gonna give a penalty in a month of Sunday's. Rudi was (in my view) also lucky to escape with just a caution for his blatant trip come serious foul play on Max which in the end p1ssed Max off so much he disappeared for the second half although still on the pitch.

Second half has already been mentioned in postings above, a fantastic team effort to grab a draw in the jaws of a right good thrashing. Credit to the management team too who can only make decisions on what they can see and what unfolds and with luck going against us the triple subs (or the kitchen sink) worked wonders.

I can't make the ETU game so those that go give the boys an extra piece of loud positive support and encouragement cos as Trenks mentioned the support can be the 12th man at this level.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening with fellow Enfieldians, can't be bad
