Portsmouth

I read in one of today's papers that Portsmouth FC might be wound up on Wednesday. I still think this is unlikely, but if it were to happen, a new club will obviously be formed by the fans for next season.

The paper stated that the new club would have to visit "the likes of Oxford City and Bashley" (Southern Premier). But isn't the precedent there with AFC Wimbledon (and FC United) that any new club would have to start in a lower feeder league? I'm guessing this would then be the Wessex League, though it'd be interesting to be in the South & West division and visit Fratton Park if they can rent it as the speculation suggests!

I reckon they would stuck in the Conference or just below - they would no doubt get massive crowds and most teams at our level and below just coudn't cope.

I have stuck my article that should have appeared in the Hitchin programme about football financial meltdown on my blog - if i had waited to publish before the Hitchin programme there would have been so many changes - like Palace going into admin
