Someone told me last night that Saints lost 2-3. I don't believe that.

Yes, Zealster. I couldn't make it but I heard a scurrilous rumour that we lost 2-3; that Mackail-Smith and Young played for them; that Craig scored one; and that Martin and McDonnell scored for City.

I wasn't there but my correspondent says the attendance was about 100. My personal opinion on the match is we should have won, really, and letting in 3 goals against Arlesey is not good. What's official news anyway? Where can I find it?

 

Nick Conroy is ex-Boston United, so I understand, looked pretty good in the Gills game. Gledhill and Smith both played last night (see latest news on the website).

Gledhill played against Gillingham. So did Smith, who also played last night. Conroy is a goalkeeper who we are, no doubt, 'having a look at'. I heard that we were 'having a look at' the second string 'keeper from Boston Utd, but I can't confirm that they are the same chap.

 

No bids for Ryan or Simon who both played in both games. Crawshaw is taking a year out. Ex Busby Babe, Graeme Tomlinson has signed and committed his future to The Saints but hasn't featured yet due to a minor injury. Mackail-Smith has gone to Arlesey who are 'having a look at' Young. Evo is still here, though.

AFF, Nick Conroy was understudy to first choice keeper Paul Bastock at Boston but he was released in May this year.
