Interesting honest interview. I do think MB knows the answer but is to afraid to acknowledge it.

MB the answer you are searching for is lack of leadership on the pitch (this is NOT a criticism of Lloyd in any way). All the great captains Dave Mackay, Billy Bremener etc led by example and were defensive players. So somehow get KP (twist his hand behind his back to breaking point if you have to) to let you go out and get a defensive leader.

Who I do not know

When right now.

It would be great if it were to happen, but what club is going to let a defensive leader leave in Feb.. Therein lies part of MB's problem. To see the fruits of his labour fully we need to see MB shape his OWN SQUAD over the summer, complete with a team that can adapt to how he wants to see us play. It's not just outright technical skill, it's also about what's upstairs. To the doubters - I can't think of a better man to get us out of this mess to keep us up. MB and SB are clearly passionate about the game and know it better than anyone else we could get.

I was delighted with the appointment of MB and still believe he will become a top Margate manager.

I do have concerns however over his admittance of Margate being frail mentally ,and how he needs to do something about that'yet his signings (duncan probably excepted ) do not strke me as the type of characters who are mentally strong.

Something is not quite right here:

MB recognising we need more 'balls' ,yet 24 hours earlier signs Sam Jones-good player though he may eventually become (or is he yet another one with this potential thing )yet hardly renowned for being 'mentally strong' on the pitch.

Does the same apply to Joseph- MB obvioisly knows him from ashford days-but even though a loaneee only-does he strike anyone as the type of character with balls that is needed ?

The words are right MB-but the signings don't to me sem to back that requirement up.

Making all the right noises as usual but when does it stop being "this team" and start becoming my team?

Dont think its about making the right noises, think hes just honest, it will become his team when it is his team and not a load players that he has inherited, one of which changed the game with his ridiculous decision to handle the ball yesterday, there wasnt a person in the ground unhappy at half time, the manner in which we crumbled was so dissappointing, find it strange that hardly anyone has mentioned the Lacy incident

Agreed it was a stupid thing to do but i hardly think we can blame everything on a player whos been among one of our most consistant this season.

Its up to the players remaining to raise their game and show a fighting spirit, not lose it completely the minute the opposition score as happened yesterday.

If Sam had stuck that one away just after the penalty, we'd be home and dry with probably a big win on our hands. Confidence is such a fragile thing. Bearing that in mind, we need to be positive for Tuesday. Look at the table and we're hardly adrift. Wealdstone have played a lot of games lately with some indifferent results. Long journey for them on a Tuesday night too so it's all to play for.

Lacey acted instinctively to a ball going towards the back of the net. I'm sure he didn't have the time to think to himself by saying "If I let this go in & stay on the pitch we will still be a goal in front & be 11 men apiece still on the pitch".

Instinctively he reacted, palmed the ball out probably in hope that the officials might have gone blind for a second. Then there's always the outside chance that they could miss the spot kick.Had they done so we would still have been two goals to the good and possibly,I say possibly, could have still won the game from there & Lacey would then have been the hero.

No, he acted in a way that "most" would have acted & up until his dismissal I had him down as our M.O.T.M so I for one won't fault him for his actions.

We WERE still a goal to the good & the reamaining 10 should have had the noddle to ride any storms that came their way.

Even before Laceys dismissal the writing was on the wall anyway with the way we started out in that second half. The result wasn't solely down to Laceys dismissal (though of course it didn't help).

our best and most experienced player JK is sitting on the sidelines waiting to see what our terrific board decide to do..whatever happened or did not happen should have been sorted immediately ,.this must be having a bad effect on everyone.if he is or even if we wants to play for us again he must be given the respect he is due and made captain

Agree with Cookie,Lacy reacted instinctively to a ball going into the net and sacrificed himself for the team.If they had missed the penalty we would have still been in a good position and at 2-1 we should have been able to pull a front man back and still have the same number in defence. In the last 30 minutes they scored 3 goals which is unacceptable and not Lacys fault.I still cannot understand why we were so bad in the second half.First half I thought we were brilliant and totally controlling the game but in the second half we were as bad as we were good in the first.I think MB must be totally frustrated because it doesnt matter how good the manager is if suddenly the players cant make a straight pass.

When we played at Ramsgate last season I thought Sam Jones was the best player on the pitch so lets hope he can fulfill his potential with us.
