Much, much better. The effort and workrate of all the players couldn't be faulted with Pond (again) excellent along with all the back line and Baker who didn't stop chasing all night.

The last 15 minutes or so were nail biting especially with the ref pulling up injured but we managed to hold out.

A few more displays with that sort of commitment (starting on Saturday) should hopefully mean we stay out of the bottom four now.

Well done everyone.

Well...I am still in shock!!! When this team decides to play, they can beat the best in the league...And they proved it last night. An amazing result but before anyone gets punch drunk, we're back to playing another regular Ryman team on Saturday. harrow may not have the glamour of Dartford (if Dartford have any "glamour") but they are an awkward, tough and physical side and the lads have to be up to doing the job this Saturday. But that is for Saturday and it'll be churlish not to bask in some "glory" and enjoy last nights win today.

From my point of view, what we witnessed last night was almost sublime from the lads. They worked hard, passed the ball well (most of the time), tackled, held the ball up, gave Dartford little space (most of the time)and went out winners. A contrast to Saturday's game against Ashford...and that is what is frustrating. We know they can do it. They know they can do it but IMO, they only appear to do it when they have a point to prove. The time has come for the boys to prove that point (or attempt to) at every game.

And our support...I am sure started out expecting the opposite result became all the more annimated and vocal as the team plyed it's trade. Maybe not quite a "club" performance (as witnessed at Heybridge seasons ago), was close on. Some, including me, questioned the spirit and soul of the club...Last night, it was still there and for me, there was a flicker which over the ninety minutes became a flame...lets all feed it and keep it burning. Last night I was proud of the players (if a bit frustrated for the right reasons). We all have our MOTM but I think the whole team deserve that award. Looking back, I'm remembering incidents where each player had a moment or an important contribution to the game...Well done to all of 'em.

Oh and another Ryman moment for us all to tell our children and grandchildren regarding the change of officials and the emergance of Trevor Vietch to assist in finsihing the game.

One more thing....we're out of the drop zone!!! And 17th in the league. Our highest placing since...October?

I need to lie down now....

A fantastic effort all round and an entertaiing game.

I agree that Baker was outstanding last night. I know it could be argued that his job is to score goals but he won everything that came in his direction last night, keeping a couple of defenders occupied and winnng a bucket full of free-kicks. A great contribution.

Nicholls settled in very well and had a good game. Nice to know we've got that sort of cover available.

Well done to everyone for an outstanding result.

Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant!!!

Two fully committed teams, end to end football from the start, tough tackling, some good passing, goal mouth action, a muddy pitch, a referee quite literally unfit to officiate at this level of football, a farcical end to the game and a win against the team who are top of league!

If that doesn’t bring the crowds back then nothing will!

:)

GET IN THERE!

see we can play football !!!!!!!!! great team performance, everyone made a terrific effort, and when we do that we 'WIN'. We made Dartford look ordinary (or was it their turn to have an off game), only troubled Nicholls a couple of times, I was getting a bit nervous late in the second half when Dartford were putting on a little pressure but we held up well.

Well done Trev for donning the Black.... anyone feel sorry for the ref ! :getwell:

Really looking forward to Saturday now, Harrow Borough won't be easy but, another win and who knows where we could end up ........... :discobanana:

That game had it all didnt it ! End to end entertainment imo.

I personally thought the whole team worked their socks off and as such i would not like to single any individual out. A real team effort and as mentioned above "if" that sort of desire and workrate could be applied for a good percentage of games we would A - Be in a play off spot and B - The attendance figures would creep back up.

I know it is easy to say when you have just won a game - but without doubt out of the games i have seen this season THAT was the by far the best in total commitment. It does offer the question why does it take a "big" game to inspire that.

Anyway, we are now outta the bottom 4 !! - Can we push on now ? ! Lets hope so..As after last night it would be a real shame to throw that commitment/effort/work rate away.

Well Done to the lads !

As for Dartford, I can see why they have done well this season...they play the ball out from the back quickly and use the width of the pitch effectively with 2 players on either side hugging the line...very similar to Dover - But Dover (imo) were a more classy outfit. Anyway good luck to Dartford.

Now then...what did happen to the ref ? presume he pulled a muscle...but wow who was that lino that came on !! Couple of dodgy decisions i thought :)

But like i have said...That game IMO had it ALL !

A terrific performance by all players. It was great to go home knowing we were out of the drop zone. With performances like that will come confidence. A special mention for James Baker. He has taken a bit of stick from time to time, no pace, no goals but last night he proved that he has got class as a link and target man and NOBODY could fault his 110% effort, well done .

Not just an excellent win but a morale boosting performance. All played superbly, and despite being one of his critics, Baker had a stormer. Kersey and Wild continue to impress and they must rate as one of the best centre-half pairings we've had in yonks. All across the pitch we battled hard and showed that when we want to, we can do. Sweating harder than Jeff King in a Weight Watchers class towards the end, but we thoroughly deserved the points. Is 4-5-1 the way to go from now on?

Bring on the Harrow!

A fantastic result, with no fluke about it and what a morale booster it must be to see our name above the bottom four line for the first time in ages.

As I said after Ashford, for me, for the most part the player’s effort and commitment have been there for some time (which made the Ashford capitulation all the harder to fathom out – the power of the occult – it must be!) and I thought it was a real team effort that got us through this game.

Of course we need to do it on a consistent basis, but the players must surely now believe that they are capable of beating anyone in our league.

By the way I loved this line from the Dartford Live Update service about the change in officials near the end…..LMFAO Trev!

“Still due to have at least 2 mins plus. Some old bloke has got changed and is on one line.”

Come on you Blues!!!!
