fk me i had a shed load last night.. ending up in the 'grand' in leigh on sea which is stuck in a timewarp in 1982.. brilliant!

i still feel pissed this morning.. the question is when will this feeling of wellbeing disapear, to be replaced by post alcohol depression and pain.. i know its coming but when?

city drinking experts always maintain that 10am is 'the wall' the worst time being the half hour after that.. im hoping i drank enough to get me to 10.30 or 10.45 thereby being that much closer to lunchtime top up beers, which should see me through to post work swiftys which should get me home.....

i was wearing extra light blue jeans and basketball trainers the size of a small african nation..

i dread to think what kind of haircut i was sporting

and RELAX tee shirts where about to come out

i think i had the 'gay' angle covered before the revising bit

i also remember thinking the new shape xr2 was the finest car in the world

We had our first Video Recorder in 1982 too!!

we had a betamax!! nice move dad..

and a brown mark II cortina estate with bench seats and a column gear change ..

my brother had to learn how to drive in that! it had an extra long whippy ariel that had to be tucked into the rain rail for multi story car parks it was later traded for a mark 4 or 5 estate which seemed like a bmw in comparison

Caretakers 1982

 

1 Returned to England after 2 years away. First year on Honeymoon travelling through China, Japan, Indonesia etc before arriving in Oz. Second year playing football for Adelaide City in SA Premier League.

2. Secured first mortage and moved to St Albans.

3. Bought back my original 1968 VW Beetle for £250. Ran for another 5 years and 100,000 miles.

4. First visit to Clarence Park to see City.

5 Retired from football (28). Didn't kick a ball again for 5 years.
