Their sqaud for tonight includes 4 first teamers. Will be interesting tonight for sure. Seeing as Scotty is meant to be old freinds with their current manager whats the chances of getting someone on loan from them!?

Would you realy want someone in to spoil a team doing well and as already bonded as a squad? It doesn't work bringing in sometimes big time charlies who are more often no better than what you have.

Oh well. Lino didnt want extra time and who can blame him. Not a entertaining game but a good performance by us. Highlight has to be Rico dumping Duburry on his [****!!****]!! Good 90 min stint from him!

One plus is the fact that totton now have 4 more games to play than us as they are in their semi of the county cup. That could take its toll.

Big big month ahead in the league.

As Woody said not the most entertaining game but a decent performance nonetheless. It seemed a pretty even game until the last 10 minutes when they started to create some good chances.

For most of the game we seemed to match them for possession and even seemed to get the better of the midfield exchanges. Unfortunately they were rock solid at the back. I don't think I've ever seen a taller player than their centre back, he was massive and yet annoyingly mobile.

Their goal seemed to have element of good fortune about it but at least it didn't happen in the league and cost us vital points.

It would have been nice to have met Slough in the semi final but I'd take a win on Saturday over last night every time.

Hmm, I actually enjoyed the game - I thought we played some great stuff at times and bearing in mind it wasn't our entire 1st team, especially after Jake went off early, and the fact that they are a (comparitively) super-fit, training-5-days-a-week, pro outfit, I thought we acquitted ourselves extremely well.

A real good sharpener, against opposition that are better than AFC Totton, I thought we would have taken a lot from that performance.

Bring on AFC Hayes!

I wasn't there but the feedback i have heard from various sources is that we played well and ultimately they brought on a few fresh players and dominated in the closing stages getting a fortuitous goal but not against the run of play.

I agree with Mrs Cat, 3 points Saturday and another 3 Tuesday are so much more important than a B&B Semi against Slough. The players can concentrate 100% on the title, and by all accounts Rico looked okay for 90 mins, which is very useful considering we will pick up injuries throughout the rest of the season.

Do we know if Jake is okay, I guess we could rest him Saturday if needed as we do have cover in Kristen and Pearce and I would imagine Tuesday will be a lot tougher than Saturday.

Agree with it being an excellent test and perhaps it will stop any players getting complancent?

I agree we did at times play good stuff but i tend to judge games on what we end up talking about. Last night was something else on that regard. Coke addiction ( the fizzy kind, Toothpaste and what goes into them, Cancer treatment, Redudancy pay, Dirty bombs, the bbc being duped by a iffy Doctor who'd been paid to say butter is bad by the makers of flora!. And that was just the first half!!

Second half Myself, Mrs Cat and Benjo seemed to find the power to see into the future as we managed to guess what the Deadworth dog was going to say almost word for word about his trip back from the Stag on saturday night!! Far more entertaining than the match to be fair!!

I suspect that's just because the various Cup games really don't matter that much this season. If it had been 0-0 at home with a few minutes left the tension would have been unbearable, and conceding a goal like that would have been sickening - as it happens we all kind of went home with a c'est la vie shrug.

This is true although every game feels like a cup final at the moment. Wednesday night just didn't seem as important in the greater scheme of things.

Another huge game on Sat against a team with everything to play for, it should be another great spectacle. If the scores are level or there is only 1 goal in it going into the last few minutes I don't think I'll be able to watch....and its going to be like that until the end of the season now!
