oi ryan, any chance of you coming to sortg our pitch out then???

Leave ot out, You already have our players now you want our supporters aswell.

You could see how bad the pitch was with the amount of bobbles on it, I'm sure our pitch would not have been much better at -4

The downside of that was the lino spent more time dodging holes & trenches then he did watching the game.

Not sure what happened at half time but it worked for the urchins and backfired on us. still a point is better than nowt.

Pondinio was solid again :applaus:

A game of two halves most definately. We could've been one or two up in the first half...they could've been the same in the second.

A frustrating game for a couple of reasons;-

1) Why did we go long in the second. The Urchins were struggling with our midfield in the first half and were reduced to fouling us.

2) Why does it take us so long to get a sub on? Wareham looked ready to come on for about ten minutes and before that, it looked we were struggling.

Not major moans more questions around observations - Every manager has his way of doing things.

Apart from that, a point was a fair result. Now we have Ashford away and what worries me is where are the goals going to come from? We were locked and loaded a few times last night but failed to attack the second ball when it dropped free in their penalty area. With Billy injured (a striker in form) that indecision will cost us if we don't sort it out and soon.

Si Thomas didn't have a good game & unless either he ratchets up a couple of gears, or Billy makes a return, it's hard to see where goals are going to come from at the moment. There were one or two plum chances squandered in the first half last night.

I point is gained seeing as we were away, but like everyone else has mentioned..what a game of two halves !! Thought we should have been out of sight by halftime, but good save by their keeper and goal disallowed not to mention numerous long range shots was all to no avail. Crazy as if the league was based on goals against ratio we would be second ? ! - So, where do we get goals from...

To be fair to both sides the pitch was bobbly so passing became difficult but at times players from both sides seemed to find it hard to even lift the ball ! Some quality crosses from Slatter in second half but no-one wanting to attack them....And how the hell did that ball not go in up at our end ! Any Hornchurch folk know how close that was cos we all thought it was a dead cert goal ! - But once again i agree Pond was absolutely outstanding, as was our back line, but i guess that is why we would be second in the league !

Anyway, without doubt a point shared was the right result based on both half showings.

2 half’s for sure, Bakers goal looked good to me but I was viewing from an angle. We totally dominated the first half, shame we couldn’t convert that into goals.

Just a note re Simon Thomas, Yes he was poor yesterday. It's not so long ago he was playing and scoring regularly at our level, and on Saturday in the second half, he looked like he was on the road to regaining the form that earn't him a move into the League.

But given the trouble a Crystal Palace yesterday, and the fact that they still owe Simon a significant amount of money, the worry may have affected his game.

He is a quality player and we are lucky to have him, I’m sure he’ll be back to his best soon

A draw was fair. In the first half, we carried on from Saturday, bossed the midfield and created some good chances. The second half was the opposite and we hardly threatened at all.

Hopefully Thomas will be back in form on Saturday. It has to be better than the last two seasons Ashford horror shows!

What a dreary game.

Anyway, I want to have a moan!

Is it just my imagination, or have we recently taken to harrassing the ref en masse, in true ManUre style?

It happened a couple of times on Saturday and again last night.

I hope this is only me seeing things and not a team ploy, because I think that is one of the most disgraceful things about many top league players today.

The ref certainly did make some odd decisions last night, but I thought that the majority in the first half were in our favour.

Also I felt Baker deserved a mention last night for his work rate, particularly as he carried the lethargic Thomas for the second half.

Anyway, one point nearer the play-offs and on to another 3 points on Saturday...

I think Bake's work rate has been excelent in his last few appearances, and he fought hard last night. When the goals start coming he'll be an invaluable member of the squad.

Thanks TC for the comments regarding Si Thomas. The difference in performances between last night and Saturday was marked. Lets hope he can get those issues resolved quickly and get focussed on pushing the Blues up the table; we're running out of time!
