Ricky 2 Hastings 0

Really pleasing display. A deserved win, two well taken goals (especially the second) and a cleansheet.

The midfield quartet is excellent and fingers crossed they stay fit as they could be the key to getting out (and staying out) the drop zone imo.

Shame the other sides at the foot of the table picked up points too, but hopefully Tuesday night will see another three points picked up.

Why are we looking at the foot of the table?

Only two teams have lost fewer than us this season.

Win our games in hand and we're level on points with Hastings.

It only matters where we are in the league when we get into April.

For now its irrelevent what the others do - lets just beat Hornchurch on Tuesday.

Play-offs here we come...

It was a great performance & result and, as has been said, one of the more enjoyable trips to NL this season. I'd agree with the comments that compliment the management team for learning the lessons of last Tuesday & going 4-4-2. But, apart from wishing they'd learnt them at least 45 minutes of football earlier, I also thought we continued to be a bit "gung-ho" once we'd got that important second goal "cushion". There didn't seem to be much of an attempt to close the game down, retain possesion and see the clock out. In this respect it was a great shame that Michael Shinn wasn't in the squad. Presumably he's injured?

I'd say that the Hastings bubble burst in a big way on Saturday. They didn't seem to have a lot to offer in front of goal, and failed to live up to their elevated league position.

Billy looks on fire at the moment. If he carries on in this vain he's bound to catch an admiring eye from a lot further up the Pyramid, if he hasn't already done so. Si seems to be settling in well though, and Bakes seems to be responding well to the competition for places.

Welcome back Macca!
