AFC HORNCHURCH 2 AVELEY 7

Hornchurch had a number of triallists, including two from the USA, whereas Aveley fielded a strong side with several first team players. Aveley had an opportunity to go ahead when they were awarded a penalty, but Michael Bowditch dived to his left to save Steve Butterworth’s shot. A minute later ALFIE DADDY rose to head home a well flighted cross from the right. Hornchurch quickly equalised when Ryan Kaylor made ground on the right and his centre was converted by ROSS WALL, and they went in front when Ben Boyce raced down the left wing, turned inside and then played the ball low into the middle for ROSS WALL to hammer home.

Urchins had further chances to increase their lead but after half time, with six triallists in the side, and with Tomlinson and Wall both going off, Aveley levelled when an unmarked DARREN QUINTON scored with a shot from the edge of the area. They went ahead when Bowditch could not hold a cross from the left and DAVID KNIGHT prodded the ball home. CHE STADHART then ran through and scored from the edge of the area with a well placed shot. JOE MacKELROY came on as substitute and scored when Bowditch could not hold a hard cross from the left and DAVID KNIGHT scored his second goal of the night from a penalty. In the final minute STEVE BUTTERWORTH took and corner on the right and the ball swerved straight into the net.

Dagger ....

you have got to be the biggest fecking kock in the world of football mate ......

do a bit of research before you type crap like that, it makes you look worse than what you are, if that is at all possible.

For your info, and to save you looking it up, only John Maskell started on Tuesday at Harrow, and thats cos he has been out all season (and Harrow was his first game back, so he needs the match fitness).

Rob - you asked who are the Fullerton Titans. They are a high school / college team from the California State University of Fullerton. To explain - football (aka soccer) is very big in the USA but only until High School / college level, and when the players reach the age of 23 they have no other leagues to play in, apart from what is called the Major League (that's the one that Beckham plays in). Hence in the USA, football virtually ends at 23. So when you consider that the Cap Lge side, packed with triallists in the second half, played an almost full strength Aveley side, which included conference standard playes like Che Stadhart, Steve Butterworth aned Rhys Madden in their line up, they did not do too bad.
