Price hike

I never said i had a brother who could sell beer at £2 a pint.

Mate,i really can't see what your concern is with our beer prices,we don't come on your forum telling you what should be right or wrong at your club,if we did i would hope that the locals told us to feck off.

So you run a couple of pubs and are trying to jusify price increases from a publicans point of view but we are the consumer and have a right to moan about prices if we think they are too steep

Hills distribution are currently flogging 9 gallons of best for £64.00,that equates to 72 pints, work it out for yourself, thats less than a quid a pint but being sold at nearly £3

I think you are missing the bigger issue.

There is no sky at the club, there is no pool table, the darts board is only used if there is a darts match or if a few fans turn up on a thursday. Our gates are down, club is not in the best state but raising beer prices is simply just going to put more people off going to the club,or spending over the bar.

I don't think any fan would mind the prices being raised to compensate for the above being installed.

maybe so,but when the bar is empty before and after matchdays because people would rather drink somewhere cheaper, what happens then???

As long as they make on the functions the club is happy.

I am all for the club maximising its potential, lets face it,every person who has wanted to come and take over the club recently knows what a gold mine the bar can be but with dwindling crowds perhaps the club has just thought, fck it,the fans are staying away, keep the profit margin the same by putting the prices up and make on the functions.

Maybe a little more thought or at least consultation with the fans would of made it easier to swallow

I think Buzzard boy has got it spot on, all of us impoverished OAPs that support little Romford FC can enjoy our half a pint of milk stout at very reasonable prices thanks to our generous landlords at Aveley.

This allows us to pay for fence panels for our new state of the art allotment at Westlands.

Don't know tbh

I only know that lager was £2.60 and is now £2.80

Although my gripe is with the prices to an extent i also think we should of been told prior to last weeks game.Maybe then it may of been easier to swallow.

I think that lack of information coming out of the club at times needs to be looked at more closely.

Donny barnard left the club earlier in the season after a good couple of years with us and nothing was ever put out to us that he had left, even with wayne gray,i overheard a conversation at the club that he had gone, otherwise it wouldn't of been posted.

We as fans appreciate the small things like this,we have always wished players well in the past but lately it can be a couple of weeks after they have gone before anyone knows they have left the club.Ex players love this club,it was only a couple of weeks ago that dale brightly text me to ask how things were,we have always got on with the players and because of that we like to say goodbye to those who go.

Maybe more information icoming out of the club is the key, then we may just get to understand things a bit more clearly,as it is,none of us really know whats going on with the club and it is starting to show some signs of strain

.

even if that was the case, shop elsewhere

Maybe they cant......and while i can understand your concerns at the price rise, do you think the forum is the best place to discuss it?

Not the best PR if you are trying to encourage people to quiz nights, darts nights etc.

Its exactly the sort of place to discuss it,if we can't even hold a conversation on a forum regarding our concerns at our club then where can we.We may as well all pack up and go and watch premier league football with the other mugs who pay inflated prices.

One of the main reasons why i gave up my Arsenal season ticket was because of the steep prices for tickets/food and beer etc, never expected it to get that bad at hornchurch.

Does anyone really think that at £2.60 a pint there was no profit being made???

My guess would be that if it was sold at £2 a pint there would still be profit to be made,i am not asking for it to be that price,i just feel £2.80 is too high

It was only a few weeks ago Rob that you and a few others were telling people that we couldn't question things about the club on this forum ?

The price of a pint does seem steep but when does any pub/club/bar ever advertise in advance that they are increasing their beer prices ? if people think it's too much then they go somewhere else, simples.

you are right to a certain extent richard, but everything we tried to keep hush,by certain things being questioned was because we felt they were stuff that could cause the club more problems than not,I am going to take a step back from things because maybe i got a bit too much involved in things relating to the club, maybe i was right, maybe i was wrong but sometimes i must learn that airing my views in public, whatever they are can annoy people, whether we believe in free speech, sometimes i should just shut it.I have been given a role of responsibility as vice chairman of the supporters club and although fans do come to me with their greivances maybe i should aire my laundry with the people who make the decissions first.I just hope that for the sake of the club that things can sort themselves out.But whatever has happened over the last few months and whoever has been involved, nothing has been done to undermine anyone, even this thread was aimed at maybe finding an alternative or a solution or at least making people discuss the issues, not to p1ss people off
