Sat 23/01/10 ESL build up

Recommended Posts

With the weather finally getting better and no cup games it looks like that we might get all nine games played this weekend and with the expection of two games it looks very close on paper, the one that jumped out first was Bowers & Pitsea as they have just beaten the bottom side they now get to play the next team climbing the table Clapton, evenly matched in league positions... this is the same at the top...Enfield v Takeley, Sawbo v Barkingside, Burnham v Witham and Basildon v Hullbridge, even in the middle of the table there is Barking v Tiptree and Apsa v Southend Manor evenly matched.... the only two games that look more clear cut are Bethnal G v Mauritius and Stansted v Eton Manor, but the league is so tight nothing would surprise me this weekend. Can't wait roll on Saturday...

Be nice to get things back to normal........

Burnham need stopping....if they do drop points Enfield and Takeley need to pretty much win every game to try and pip them to the title. A loss for either side in the Enfield v Takeley match could end any hopes for the losers!

A defeat for Witham spells the end of any lingering champions hopes... 12 points will be too big. I went for Enfield pre season and agree if they can get a result againstt Takeley they are in the mix but lose they will be in the same boat as Witham... crucial weekend.

There is a good four months of the season yet Burnham have been in this position before i personally think the league is wide open for the top 6! no real outstanding outfits so its all about who ever can put the best run of matches together. Again it certainly is the most open ESL i've ever been involved in.

I know there is 4 months remaining but my point is if Witham lose t.o Burnham the gap will be 12 and if Enfield lose the same aplies as they sit behind WTFC in the table.... but if both WTFC and EFC can win then it will be wide open as the gap will be down to 6, everyone needs Burnham to lose, least we are away if we were at home i would be worried...
