Slough Town Supporters Club

I really wish everyone would stop living in cloud cuckoo land, and keeping on about the club being run by the S.T.S.C. while I have nothing against their valiant efforts,I don't see anyway that they could maintain a football club at this level, let alone any higher, and if all your interested in is park football then there is already plenty of that around.

So we have to hang on to Mr Deaner's coat tail or another investor, if we want a decent standard of football-teams like Aldershot or Wimbledon have a huge fan base so it will be easier for their supporters club to finance things. Our only way forward is investment from outside, and before anyone replies I was a supporters club member both here and at the old dolphin stadium, and my dad and uncle both played for this club,so I feal I have as much concern as anyone.

Long time no speak Tara, welcome back!

The SUpporters Trust would be in a better position to run the club, and considering how badly it has been run for the past five years, even a scratch side of local players would at least do us proud.

I don't think waiting for Mr Deaner to produce is the right way to go about things, nor do I think having a breakaway club is the right idea either. I know there is the interest out there, it's just having Mr Deaner totally relinquish control of the club, and at least let us try and do something with it.

I still think a take over by an interested "money man" if there are any-would be superior than the supporters club way. It's already broke my heart to see the club this low down the leagues.

While you're there Gary can I ask? what's this "window of opportunity" that the thornes are meant to have-surely the council aren't going to sell the freehold to them,it's them that got us in this mess in the first place.

The window of opportunity is for the Thornes to buy the land where the club is currently situated. The problem for them would arise with the fact they cannot develop it for anything other than Sports & Leisure. They are more inclined to develop housing on it as this would give maximum return. Both Slough and South Bucks councils would be against this though.
