Barkingside (in or out)

Recommended Posts

I have just found this and it has Barkingside down as in the list, are they in or out ?

20th January - 2010 Promotion to Step 4.

The FA have announced the clubs that have applied to be promoted from Step 5 to Step 4 (Isthmian 1 North & South). 66 clubs have applied but the list below only shows those applicants that could possibly be placed in the pool for Isthmian (Ryman) League entry. The applicant clubs need to have achieved a Ground Grading E by 31st March 2010 and then to win their championship to be promoted. In extreme cases a second placed team may be promoted but that event is not considered likely. Four of the following teams will be playing in the Isthmian League in 2010/11 barring complications.

Combined Counties League

Badshot Lea FC

Camberley Town FC

Chertsey Town FC

Chessington & Hook United FC

Epsom & Ewell FC

Molesey FC

Eastern Counties League

Cambridge Regional College FC

Leiston FC

Needham Market FC

Essex Senior League

Barkingside FC

Bethnal Green United FC

Burnham Ramblers FC

Enfield 1893 FC

Witham Town FC

Hellenic League

Almondsbury Town FC

Flackwell Heath FC

Reading Town FC

Wantage Town FC

Kent League

Erith & Belvedere FC

Erith Town FC

Faversham Town FC

Herne Bay FC

Spartan South Midlands League

Aylesbury FC

Brimsdown Rovers FC

Broxbourne Borough V&E FC

Chalfont St Peter FC

Dunstable Town FC

Hanwell Town FC

Royston Town FC

Tring Athletic FC

Sussex County League

Chichester City FC

Redhill FC

Whitehawk FC

United Counties League

Daventry Town FC

Newport Pagnell Town FC

St Ives Town FC

St Neots Town FC

Wessex League

Bemerton Heath Harlequins FC

Newport (IW) FC

Poole Town FC

Wimborne Town FC

Winchester City FC

An FA shake up of league boundaries to ensure a more equitable solution for the East Anglian clubs is expected. At present the Isthmian League is considered favourite to lose some clubs in it's Southern region to accept the East Anglian clubs, but this has not been decided or agreed upon yet.

Four Clubs?

Does that mean play offs between league winners then? Very exciting if so

Some of those could go Southern League and teams will be moved around.... but agree would be exciting if play offs,,,, :futbolbud2:

sorry but this is not really how it works, theres 14 step 5 leagues and every year theres 12 places available at step 4.

most seasons at least 2 clubs go bust at steps 1 to 5 so if you win your league and your ground has passed you will go up.

thus explains the reasoning why the FA want to get rid of two leagues at step 5.

I can confirm that Barkingside's application was not on my original list and has now been confirmed by the F A.
