Tonights games

Surrey Cup QF

Cobham v Worcester Park

The 2 form teams of CCL Div 1 meet tonight in what should hopefully be a good game depending on the amounts of rustiness on show!! - although the reserves fitness certainly showed in their 6-2 win last night.

The club are hopful the game will go ahead as planned unless there is some serious rain/snow this afternoon, and the pitch certainly didn't cut up in any way during the game last night - lets just hope they have managed to get in rolled today as imo it could do with it to get an excellant surface back for tonight.

Pouring with rain here in Staines where I'm working.

As for Feltham V Eversley

There is a pitch inspection at 3-3.30 but from the conversation I just had with club officials, it's not looking too good, especially after Bedfont played on it last night

Hi Wattsy,

Good news the game got the green light.

I assume it's now up to the referee to inspect before the game and there isn't another inspection planned?

Reason I ask is because I'm leaving London around 5:30 ish and will be heading straight to the ground.

Thanks

As far as I know it's now down to the Ref. The rain has been light pretty much all day but only spells of heavy rain

Hi Wattsy,

It was a very tight game and you were unlucky to lose. The pitch looked very tricky to play on and I didn’t envy anyone out there last night.

Thought the officials left a lot to be desired. I'm not usually one to criticise, as I know it's not an easy job, however when both teams are confused by decisions it suggests they are getting a fair few wrong.

Good luck for the rest of the season and I look forward to the return game at our place.

Also thanks for the update on the game last night. I was on the tube, so didn’t get a chance to reply.

Surrey Cup QF

Cobham 4-1 Worcester Park

Very good win for us last night in our first game in more than 5 weeks. We went 1 down after a mistake by myself (I blame the prolonged break myself  ) at a corner, but after having a goal disallowed for an apparent foul on the GK we equalised before halftime for a fair reflection of the first half.

Second half started in similar fashion and WP clipped the top of the bar with a hooked shot before we took a 2 goal advantage with a couple of fantastic counter attack goals that were both pleasing on the eye and finished emphatically. A 4th was added when a cross eluded everyone and nestled in the bottom corner. WP had a few half chances but nothing more and seemed more concerned in blaming the ref come the full time whistle.

Good game to win to blow away the cobwebs and we now have a Semi Final to look forward to against either Leatherhead or MVSCR.

... Hoy! Hoy! - are the Chicks REALLY playing in the SCC (Seriously Can't Care?) tonight Thursday 21st @ Scours Lane ?? :wtf:

Where did that one come from - now shown on Hellenic Mitoo?

CCL Mitoo STILL shows Dorking v Woking for tonight - when I've read its been put back to next Tuesday?

- this Southern Combination (Round One) wasn't mentioned on this weeks Bulletin (not even as awaiting/tba) and doesn't feature on the Chicks' website - nor on the one I can find for Town.

... anyone know?

... anyone bovvered? ;)

... might pop along if I can get the Kids delivered to/from Scouts/Beavers AND its gets me out of the house - Wife's got The Bellringers round - no that's NOT a euphemism.

Apologies, as this is actually a 3rd round match and not a QF as I thought it was. We will be away to either of these teams or Corinthian Casuals v Epsom & Ewell

Not a problem mate. Was that you in the long black coat munching on your massive hamburger?

Hi,

Yeah that was me in the long black coat eating a hamburger. Very pleased to see you were serving food, after not getting a chance to get any lunch!

The lady working in the tea hut is quite a character as well!

Did you play in the game? If so, what position? Also have you picked up a few players recently? Thought you looked a much better side than your league position.

She's Scottish, enough said

I was the sub in the red coat last night. Our whole starting lin-up was new except for Glen in goal and Gemini (with the haircut) upfront. Things look stronger now yes.

You had a decent look to yourselves!! A great addition to the league

She was quite amusing!

The keeper looked good (although we didn't cause him too many problems). Pleased things are looking up for you.

We're quite a young side and the lads are getting used to the step up from last year. It's the same squad as last season, although we have recently signed two lads from CCL Prem which will improve the team and ultimately the sqaud depth. Enjoying the league and have been very impressed with the majority of set-ups and it's proving to be very competitive on the pitch as well.
