Disappointing news about Paul Johnson.

Well IMO if its just money he is after, is that who us fans want here? Give me players who want to play for this club any day no matter what!

I doubt Ashford have money Alan so I can only assume it was for other reasons. Was he present in the bar after the game I wonder? No matter, the decisions been made for whatever reason. Moving on!

Yes talking with other Ashford players, I only mention the monies as Wellsie put that he had received an improved offer from them.

Sorry,I overlooked that. Yes,surprising. Maybe we were offering him a little more but little enough for a higher offer to be put to him for such a move, even from Ashford. Don't matter now anyway.

I am from Ashford and, whilst I am obviously pleased that Paul has had a change of heart, it is certainly not for more money, as we don't really have any, as your earlier poster intimated. I suspect it was more the thought of trekking to Margate on a regular basis from our part of the world that was the main deterrent.

Back to Jay Saunders then-you get 3 in one-goalscorer,emergency defender and above all - combative midfield player

I have heard this may be happening as well but we didnt have the budget after signing Paul Johnson , now this is not happening maybe we can stretch to getting Saundo back. Would be a great move IMO.

Perhaps he didn't fancy being told he was sh.. And to f off if he wasn't having a good game! I wonder...

Got to say.. that crossed my mind too. Talk about bad timing with a prospective new signing standing just feet away.

A point I was getting at too:

"not for more money?" Dont make me laugh he's now one of the highest paid players in the league, or the rumour about an external sponsor for his wages must be untrue then??

Never mind though good luck to him it wasnt meant to be. Wish all the best to Ashford who are clearly not paying peanuts to ALL their players and therefore shouldn't plead poverty and we will just be glad that he didn't play against us at the weekend.
