So what are members views on next Saturday's eagerly awaited tie between Royston Town and Wroxham at a packed Garden Walk. Wroxham appeared to make very heavy weather of beating Armthorpe Welfare yesterday on penalties and despite being tenth in the Ridgeons Eastern Counties League Premier Division I can't see Paul Attfield's men having any problems reaching the last eight.

Royston Town were a little unfortunate I thought with their 6th Round draw if they overcome Wroxham on Saturday however it could have been worse and there's sure to be a full house at Bloomfields on 27 February:

Krafty - As much as I would like to come to Garden Walk on Saturday for the eagerly awaited Wroxham game I am committed to going to Tokyngton Manor v Harpenden Town, it will certainly be the first result I look for at 4.50 though.

Krafty and The Watchful Listener have been unsurprisingly as quiet as mice since Royston's surprise 5-0 whitewash to Wroxham last week, I'm assuming that they simply failed to get out of the traps whereas everything Wroxham touched on the day turned to gold according to their Website:

As we left Norwich the rain was pouring down and we wondered if our luck was

going to be out again when we got to Royston. However when we got to Duxford

the rain had stopped and on arriving at Royston the sun was shining. The

pitch was very heavy and wet with plenty of sand on it.

As soon as the whistle went Wroxham were on the attack and in the 4th minute

took the lead when Spriggs went on one of his runs, and from an angle that

seemed impossible to score from, somehow managed to put the ball into the

top corner of the net. This spurred the Royston side into action and after

having a couple of corners( that were well taken care of by the Wroxham

defence) won a free kick on the 18 yard line, but again the defence did

their job and cleared the danger. Wroxham were now pushing forward with

Spriggs having a field day against the Wroxham rear guard. Gilmore was more

into the game at this stage and had 2 good shots saved by the Royston

keeper. Cook was having a very good game up front being supplied by Spriggs,

Gilmore and White who were up and down the park. With no further goals the

half time score was 0-1.

At the start of the second half Wroxham were applying all the pressure and

in the 48th minute Spriggs was again on one of his runs when he outran the

Royston defence to net his second goal. It was all Wroxham at this stage and

in the 6oth minute, it was Spriggs again who laid off a good ball to White

who headed it into the net. In the 70th minute Paynter came on for Spriggs

and Daniels for Gilmore. They had both given everything they had. Paynters

first touch of the ball was to take a penalty after White was brought down

in the box. The ball hit the inside if the post and rebounded out to Paynter

who made sure of the goal the second time. Royston then sent everybody

forward and Howie pulled off 3 outstanding saves. In the 84th minute Wroxham

made it number 5 when Daniels made a wonderful run beating three defenders

to wack the ball home. In the last five minutes, with Wroxham sitting back,

Challen was judged to have brought down one of the Royston players. However

Howie was spot on again and saved the penalty.

Final score Royson 0 Wroxham 5.

This was again an outstanding display by the Wroxham team who never stopped

working for each other. To pick any player for ' Man of the Match' would be

very difficult. Spriggs, Cook, White and Howie were on excellent form as was

every other player in the Wroxham side.

We now have to wait for 2 weeks when we go to Needham in the quarter finals.

If Wroxham play like they did today Needham will know they will have to be

at their best to get a result against a good Wroxham side.

Attendance 650.

You are correct Mr Rohodes in your assumption. I have been quiet since and very disappointed with most of Royston's results recently.

I see Wroxham continue in their bid to reach Wembley with a win yesterday.

Krafty - I think Wroxham's win at Needham Market shows they must be a quality side however a 5-0 home defeat must have been very disappointing for the Club. Were you at the Colney Heath game yesterday

Yes I did attend the game on Saturday and thought we played well ( but not well enough). Royston were denied a clear penalty opportunity which I have no doubt Colney fans would contest as the manager passionately did and got himself sent from the sideline by doing so.

The pitch was in the worst condition I have seen for a long time and suited Colney better than Royston. I never like to put the Officials down but the Ref did not have the best of games. With regard the penalty decision he made, I heard him say to an appealing Royston player that he was watching the flight of the ball and not the players. Fair enough, but this happened in front of the Linesman and the Referee did not even consider asking his compatriot if he saw what had happened.

Another 3 points lost to a strong Colney side. Incidentally, we have met them 3 times without a win so far this season.
