Players bar

When I was a cttee member I had no privilleges, unless you call running the bar organising events, selling lottery tickets painting white lines cutting the grass cleaning the changing rooms and paying the wages and bills out of personal pockets a privilage. Oh I forgot, we also drove the players to the away games in our own cars.

Is that all? In my day I had to do all that and clean out the changing rooms with my tongue because we couldn't afford mops. When everyone had gone home at two in the morning I had to rip up the carpets and hand beat them, climb the floodlight pylons in bare feet to clean the bulbs with the sleeve of my jumper and kill a pig, skin it and hand stitch the hide to make a football for the next match after re-laying the pitch with turf from a field ten miles away that I cut using a plastic butter knive and transported on the back of my hoop and stick. I had a cup of used linament scrapings for my tea and you never saw me bleating about a players lounge on here.

But try telling that to people today and they won't believe you.

[****!!****] sake gentleman this is non league football

i think at the end of the day drinking with the players which in some cases they have come through the youth system, are just normal people, not the stars that some fans blow them up tp be.

every club have a bar where the game is talked about debated and then we all go home and go to work on monday.

Gods sake some of you grow up!
