Players bar

DEREK

Recommended Posts

Roll on the time when the players and officials of the club can have thier own bar,, then they can avoid confrontation with the angry fan and the fan who likes to offer advice, whilst all the time he is talkiing out of his backside. To many nosey old "women" poking thier noses into the managers job, Let the players relax and have a drink with thier mates after the game.

Absolutely. I have no idea what went on, but I spent many years in various licensed / leisure industry jobs - Not one of them allowed 'staff' to use the same facilites as 'customers' (I appreciate that this terminology is a stretch in this instance, but relevant nonetheless).

This may seem unfair or harsh, but I believe that the positives for both parties outweigh the negatives.

Of course, it also means that the club can organise official 'meet the players' / Q&A nights with the playing staff, and take both matchday revenue as well as this bonus revenue on otherwise quiet nights - when feelings may not be running quite so high.

Oh cobblers. One of the charms of non-league is that there is no elitism. I didn't see what happened on Saturday but I am guessing a few blokes had what might be described as a full and frank exchange of opinions - big deal! It's the kind of thing that happens at all non-league clubs from time to time. Indeed, some good may come of it in terms of motivation...

Sounds to me DEREK that it is you talking out of your backside as usual. So why do you go in the bar then?

Or do you hark back to the days when you as a cttee member had all the privilleges and did not have to mix with the proletariat.

all right a couple, apart from that wat has the romans done for us lol

going back a few years it was great having the players in the bar afterwards and listening to them giving each other stick, its a club house for 1 and all i say,

also the it will make the end of season presentation a bit boring with players in 1 lounge and the supporters in another

What a load of absolute b. o.l.l.o.x, one of the attractions for Non-league football is that they are average joe bloggs (players and officials alike) making a bar for them/us would cause divisions which would pretty much scrap the "Family Club" atomposphere. Every supporter gets elated/annoyed/angry and many other emotions besides, but I think all would agree thats part of the joy of the game. As for giving the Manager advice - have a word with yourself, apart from the few that run Sunday League teams i dont think anyone of us could or should expect to advise a guy who has more experience in his little finger than we have all together.

Hahaha, hilarious stuff. You should be on the stage with comedy like that.

I know plenty of teams from Step 5 to Conference who tell their players they won't get paid unless they spend at least half an hour in the bar with the fans post-match. Where do you think you are, Old Trafford? Fans sharing their opinions and being able to talk to the players is what 'belonging' to a local club is all about, for both the fans and the players.

If you have a couple of fans who don't know how to behave in the bar and want to spoil it for others, do everyone a favour and have the balls to sling them out until they can behave.

One reason I support Margate is because of the family atmosphere usually in the bar after (Saturday excepted). Talking to players, manager and hearing their views of the game is all part and parcel of the non league game and I for one fully support it.

Oh dear, it seems I have upset some of the old women, Lets get one thing clear I never go in the bar after the game, And I stick by my comments that I have made, could it be that I have hit a nerve in those that think they are best buddies with players who actually would like them to "P" off.

Why did you choose to highlight my post Derek, I am not the one who said you talk out of your backside, and for your information the players do like chatting to fans just try asking them. Maybe in the past your views are correct but not in the 21st Century (most Margate fans I believe would agree with this).

When I was a cttee member I had no privilleges, unless you call running the bar organising events, selling lottery tickets painting white lines cutting the grass cleaning the changing rooms and paying the wages and bills out of personal pockets a privilage. Oh I forgot, we also drove the players to the away games in our own cars. It seems to me if you had joined the cttew at that time you could have shared my good fortune.
