This Weekend at RSPB Minsmere

[Eastside Urchin]

Took the missus to RSPB Minsmere on the Suffolk coast this weekend for her birthday (her idea not mine but i did not protest)

Weather wasn't brilliant yesterday so we just sat in the bittern hide for 3 hours before going to back to the visitor centre for a spot of shopping and to demolish a few sausage rolls

Then to the Adnams pub in eastbridge called the Eels foot(a regular haunt for birders)

This is what we saw and heard both days

 

 

2 Bitterns(1 flew over my head as i came out the west hide,best views i have ever had)

Tawny owl(3 heard)

Barn owl (heard hunting last night)

Snow Bunting (2 seen on coast today)

Lapland Bunting (4 seen overhead)

Water Rail seen from bittern hide
