BTW, when I say Common Gull, I don't necessarily mean Larus Canus, I mean there are bleedin' loads of 'em. For all I know they could be Herring Gulls.

It was amazing, a young Kestrel crash landed in the middle of the lawn then scampered under a bush, almost immediately a larger Kestrel (the parent I assume) landed on the fence above the bush, eventually the youngster came out and they flew off. I saw it all from the bedroom window about a year ago.

 

I can also add a Wood Pigeon to the list. The biggest one I've ever seen has just landed on the bird table and nearly knocked the fecker over.

i regularl get kestrels and sparrowhawks flying over my house,but then again i do live next to a local nature reserve

At Wat Tyler Park, from the hide near to the Motor Boat Museum, looking to the left, flying low over Bowers Marsh. Evidently it's a regular visitor. I'm on an RSPB walk on Saturday morning over at Bowers Marsh so hopefully, I'll see it again soon!!

it gets addictive,i am usually on 120-130 birds for the year so far by now but this year i am well below that as i have hardly been out,been too busy

Seen today - a Mandarin Duck and a pair of geese that looked like a large male mallard with a long neck? Any ideas?

I have been told that it's probably a Canada Goose x Greylag Goose.
