Not surprised at their choice but once again Aaron Lacey was not noticed by the players when his good positional play begged a pass to attack down the right. He could have had far more influence on the game if only options to the right as well as the left were considered by his peers. Two points lost imo.

Agree entirely Dave. on numerous occasions he was in acres of space and got ignored by everybody, including the keeper, who could have thrown the ball to him.

It was almost as though he was invisible to everybody else on the pitch.

A few candidates for me:

Lacy,Reed, but i would have given it narrowly to Duncan-first time i have seen him play 90 mins.

Was very impressed-just kept it simple and protected the defence-thats why defence looked better-midfield -particularly Duncan-but and to a lesser extent on the day- WW-protected it better.

(how does JK get back in the team with Duncan playing like that in a similar position ?)

One of the slightly odder things about laceys good performance on saturday-was that i cannot recall him having a single one of his trademark long throw-ins.

Credit Ashford here if they were able to deliberately restrict the attacking throw-in opportunities

I agree about Duncan. He looks to be getting better and better. Hopefully, we can find a way to play both him and JK, after all it worked playing JK with Jay Saunders I midfield, and given MB's preference for 4-4-2 I think it's odds on he will when he can.

Reed

Lacy / Young / Groombridge or Smith / Robinson

Joseph / Keister / Duncan / Clarke

Blackman / Healy

Maybe too open. I'd be happier to stick with the current system at least until the summer. Would be asking for trouble to mess with shape at the end of January.

Reed

Keister

Lacy / Young / Groombridge or Smith / Clarke

Duncan

Stubbs / Healy

Joseph / Blackman

Keister seems to be more comfortable at sweeper these days. How long can we keep hold of AJ I wonder?
