Roge, if the STSA believed Martyn Deaner to be spouting lies all the time from the off, things would have been done differently. How many people came away from that meeting held at WP in May thinking he was going to pull it all off? The only thing he pulled was the wool over peoples eyes, again. The main thing is, people are waking up to this, however late, and are now trying to resurrect the problems, you and me included.

<img src="/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" /> hi dominic are you going by train. i will proberbly aim for the 1504 to oxford to avoid the rush and proberbly have my dinner and stay positive at slough resorce centre. i will walk round town possibly and get number 2 or 13 to ground. sadly no knolage of timings pot luck as not been near or to ox reciently. local buses have changed routes slough area and prices of tickets up by a few pence and two compinies in rivelry running to high wycombe so limited to two operaters now not execepting each others tickets as rivels on 74 to high wycombe to see my girlfriend liz making tricky. i hope we realy can sort slough fc this is going to be last minute stuff

Interesting reading, proving nothing changes and nothing moves forward.

 

Two and a half years on and no more info from Deaner, no new ground.

 

The support has continued to drop.

 

The then newly formed trust still has no greater influance on the club.

 

The secret squirels are still at work.

 

But one positive - Hornchurch went bust!!!!

i say poor game and ref today allowing a goal and for fans and players to celerbrate and to suddunly dissalow it and in the 90 min proving lightning does not allways strike twice and to what you say. dificult to comment as no news but if i had any i would find at like you through people like roy m and bernard ext when relivente news and gary posts news or chris so this is tricky but we must be evon more paitent take care from

Seems as there is some unnecessary comments being made, I thought I'd dig out the presentation from the Trust launch evening to clarify what was said at the time....

 

Trust Aims and Objectves:

 

- Flexible

- Fund raising and sponsorship

- Involvement in youth football

- Encourage Community based club

- Promote positive image for Slough Town F.C.

- Ensure long term future of Club

- Obtain and secure permanent home in Slough

 

How will it be achieved?

 

- Involvement with local companies

- Partner with local teams and clubs

- Support and sponsorship

- Increasing awareness of Slough Town F.C.

- Working with current owners

- Pressure on Slough Borough Council

- Ensure future is not dependent on individuals

- Involvement & support of Trust members

 

Whilst anyone can be critical about certain aspects of the Trust (and I could list several things I'd like to see done), many of the elements listed above have been achieved. You could point to the fact that the two important objectives haven't been (secure future and get a new home) but how much impact can a Trust with a couple of hundred members have in that respect? Especially when it's so hard to communicate with the people running the club.
